Hi I am currently building my first PC when i accidentaly bent two pins on my motherboard. I was stupid enough to try and bend the top one back into place and it broke off. I think i managed to bend the bottom cable back into place as I tried to plug the cable back in and it goes in fine. After reasearch i have worked out the pin that i broke off is the IntA_P1_D+ pin and the one i bent was the IntA_P2_D+. Can anyone tell me what the consequences might be and what i could do. (Currently the cable is in the header and i am scared to pull it out.)

Here is what it says on the manufacturer website. -

EDIT - Here is what the damage looks like - View: https://imgur.com/a/LahEoVL

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Go to the motherboard's manufacturer's website and find the applicable User Guide/Manual for the PC's motherboard.

The manual should have more detailed information about the JUSB3 header and specific pinout information.

What cable where you trying to plug in?

It's quite simple.
Ports connected to JUSB3 header probably will not work
(one header provides two ports, one will not work).

Just don't use JUSB3. Your motherboard has two USB 3.0 headers onboard.
Use JUSB2 header instead.
why does my motherboard have two headers as i only have one usb 3 cable

Man I feel for ya...the exact same thing happened to me when I was installing my new motherboard too. It's a fairly common thing to do since apparently those pins are quite fragile. I think it's even the same pin that broke in my header and I lost the use of one USB port on the front panel of the case. It has no effect on any other USB ports.

I was, however, able to do a jury rig fix that has been working out perfectly for about a year now. What I did was to straighten out a paper clip then slip it into socket contact of the case connector that matches to the missing pin on the motherboard header. Be sure it's all the way in and bottomed in the connector. I then clipped off the excess length, leaving about 1/16" of the paper clip extending out of the connector body. Then plugged it firmly into the header. It made contact to the little bit of the pin that's left in the body of the header and has worked flawlessly ever since with full USB 3.2 transfer speeds (or as full as they ever are).

Thanks will try that if i ever use that port in the future. (think im going to use the JUSB2 port for now.)
