Question Broken SSD on Asus G75VW laptop?

Hello!

1) Tonight after starting my PC all of a sudden the SDD stopped working on my G75VW. Moreover, it's not listed any longer in the bios (which has the latest update 223).

2) I had to reinstall Windows 10 on the second normal HDD (which is way slower). Windows has been updated to 1903 today.

3) I also exchanged the slot that used to take the SDD and vice versa. Same result.

4) Can I deduce that the SDD is broken and that it needs to be replaced? It 's not even shown under Windows 10 " Disk Management from under the Storage category."

5) Can I just buy any new SSD for the ASUS laptop G75VW?

It's just strange that it stopped working all of a sudden.

4. It's certainly a possibility. No changes made in the BIOS etc? Have you tried the SSD in another system, just to be 100% sure?

5. Yes, an SSD replacement is very straightforward in that laptop.

It's not really 'strange'.... SSDs don't start to fail, like an HDD does. Because of the flash nature, if it dies, it just dies seemingly out of nowhere.

Sometimes the SSD BIOS itself can be updated. U never disclose what brand SSD.

How do I do that?

Anyway, the old SSD was from 2012. 7 years of true locality!

Now I have a WD Green 480 GB.
