Hey so I just wanted to get some feedback on a new system I'm building for my brother or more like an upgrade path.

old system imgur:

System that I built:

and I'm open to suggestions and criticisms. and with most of the parts i gave him different options like with the ram, cooler, power supply, and graphics card. another thing to add is he wants to be able to play VR as he already has a Valve index.

Solution
I'd make these two changes to that build.

Solution
i second that

buying into coffee lake ecosystem at this point makes very little sense,
the cheapest rocket lake will provide significantly more performance and cost a bit less, even with motherboard factored in.

being a devil's advocate, since this is meant to be a VR rig, meaning you'll spend at least another 400-1400 on vr headset, it would
probably make a fair bit of sense to move up the stack to 10600kf to make it a little more future proof.
