RAM Modules: PSD32G133381 Patriot Memory 2GB PC3 - 10600 1333MHz CL9
Ok, so 2 days ago My brothers Desktop started giving problems after his RAM mysteriously gave in, both of them... [Tested]
They were 2GB 800MHz DDR2 1.8v
So first thing we did was head over to the store to purchase him new RAM, we got him 2 x 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 1.5v DIMMs, We installed the 2 without hassle, but after about half an hour of up time his computer gave the first BSOD, We thought ok perhaps something is wrong inside the chassis, so we opened up and made sure everything is perfectly seated and great it was but we could not pin the source of the BSODs which continued to happen from then on.
So after some investigation we noticed that the RAMs CAS Timing was way off, It was set to 7 - 7 - 7 - 20
I ran a memtest to get over 200 errors mainly on test 5 and 8 on both sticks
Confused I Set them to the correct values but then noticing that The only timings I knew were the CL, tRCD, tRP which should be at 9
The motherboards Default settings refuse to set it to the correct amount and insists on keeping it on the 7 format.
After some tinkering we finally got his computer to run a slight bit smoother, but then another error appeared.. Another BSOD, but this time with different details after I set his RAM to the generic CL9 timings

So I am finally out of solutions, I managed to scavenge the Dump files from his PC before it BSOD again but I am now completely tuckered out and thought perhaps I should come look here seeing as I have gotten multiple solutions from here before
. I am at the present moment in time not sure how to open said dump files so if necessary let me know.
If I left out any crucial details let me know, I have been very busy today and have not had a moment to myself all day so errors are bound to occur.
My Thoughts on the matter is that the bios might still think that the DDR2 RAM settings should be used and did not notice the change to DDR3, but that is just a fools thought.
