My laptop (HP 255 G5) keeps restarting itself every 2-3 hours or so. It always freezes completely for 20-30 seconds; then blue screen with 'DPC_Watchdog_Violation' message appears.

This issue started around 3 days ago.

There's no apparent pattern to the freezes/restarts.My only guess is that my integrated GPU may be broken in some way - I used to launch pretty demanding games and it often overheated (once it reaches the 95C mark, it tries to lower the temperature and for 10-15 seconds the overall laptop performance gets really slow). Just a theory, though.

What I've tried so far:
• Reinstalled GPU drivers
• Tried popular 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controller' fix, although my HDD doesn't qualify
• Switched the places of my RAM sticks

The problem was solved by uninstalling Windows Update KB4056895 (Monthly Rollup Update).
After that, the CLOCK_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSODs and PC lock ups stopped.

Solution
Awesome! Good to know you have figured something out. I tried that on a two personal computers few weeks back, uninstalling the package KB4056887 and KB4056895 but it did not successfully stop the BSOD's. Thanks for your input.
