Hi!

Laptop: HP Victus 15
Specs:
Intel i5-13420H
RTX 3050 6gb
32 GB Ram
2 TB T-CREATE M.2 SSD

I'm experiencing issues with my HP Victus 15 laptop, specifically with Blue Screens of Death (BSODs) caused by DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and DPC_WATCHDOG VIOLATION. After using BlueScreenView, I found that the driver ntoskernel.exe is the culprit. Interestingly, when I disable the Nvidia GPU driver via the device manager, my laptop functions normally, suggesting that the problem is related to the GPU driver.

To address the issue, I have tried the following:
  1. Driver Update: I used DDU to uninstall and then performed a clean installation of the latest Nvidia GPU drivers.
  2. Operating System Change: I reformatted my laptop from Windows 11 to Windows 10, hoping that this would resolve the issue.
  3. Internet Research: I have attempted almost every fix I could find online.
Despite trying all these solutions, the problem persists. Given that I have tried (maybe) all software-based fixes, I suspect that the issue might be related to the hardware of my laptop.

Here are my dump files uploaded on Mediafire. The latest dump file is a BSOD when I tried to run driver verifier manager: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/vftnxb27zb0pg/Minidump

What do you guys think? Thanks In Advanced!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

1| Use GPU drivers found off of your laptop's support site. Use DDU in Safe Mode, manually install the driver in an elevated command.
2| Where did you source the installer for your OS? Did you install the OS in an offline mode?
3| What have you tried before creating your account and this thread, so we're not repeating things that didn't work for you.

Check to see if your laptop has any BIOS updates pending.

Hi!

Thanks for the welcome and your time.

  1. I have already tried multiple times using DDU in Safe mode, then installing the Nvidia drivers. However, I have never tried it with an elevated command, so I'll try that.
  2. The issue started during my previous OS, Windows 11, which was the default OS when I bought my laptop. Now, I am currently using a modded Windows 10 Spectre version installed by a local technician, but the issue still persists.
  3. Off the top of my head, I've tried the following:
  • Changing the permission of the nvlddmkm.sys file to full control.
  • Performing a disk and memory check.
  • Uninstalling updates back when it was in Windows 11.
  • Updating all my device drivers.
My BIOS is also up-to-date.
