i accidentally turned my laptop off while it was still adjusting after an windows update.

now i get a BSOD with the error message 0xc0000021a

i need help, what do i do?

you mean the log or whatever it creates?
do you know about the minidump?

will it be made once you restart after inputting the command?
don't know for sure, because, well you get the error message.
will it be made on that moment?
The minidump will be a .dmp that has to be downloaded, if you cannot access the storage drives then you might not be able to do this.

If you are able to open an elevated cmd prompt in winRE, then type in SFC /Scannow and press enter

my question is about if its going to be created after restarting. accessing the location shouldn't be a problem.
do you get some kind of message saying the dump has been made?

because i restarted after inputting the code but nothing special happened, got the error message, then it auto restarted into winRE

Basically the dump file gets put into the C drive in a folder called minidumps or dumps. And the .dmp is there.

Have you run the SFC first?
Failing that installing latest service pack would be next step, however you likely won't be able to.
So it would need to be a repair / clean install.
Using a fresh W10 ISO you may be able to run repair.

in other words, wipe all data?
you mean sfc scan?

what should i do?

Yes
SFC /Scannow

If that fails, I doubt you'll be able to install the service pack so you would likely have to either clean install windows (which will wipe all data).
Or attempt a repair, which shouldn't wipe data, but might need to. You'll probably need a fresh W10 ISO on a USB stick to perform a repair.

Well bro, I told you that will happen.

You can use the RUFUS tool to create a bootable disk.

i already tried it, but didn't fix anything.
i found this tutorial
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kDVpmVRpy4
, which had something called dism/online but i couldn't get it to work, maybe it needs wifi but for some reason there is no connection. i heard there's an offline way, could this dism function also fix the issue?

is it possible to fix my pc with a random win10 install disk (e.g. microsoft website's install disk)? are there factors i need to consider?

Fair enough - but that isn't the point.
I agreed with you at the start, but with respect, it can't be jumped straight to Reset. There are steps that can be performed before hand.

You seem to be correct, yes, but please don't be the "I told you so" guy. I don't care who is correct, as long as the OP gets their problem fixed.

Every problem is a process. All I've tried to do is eliminate the essentials before jumping to data wiping.

Well you find need to download a windows 10 ISO file and use the RUFUS tool to create a bootable DISK.

You can download a free OS from get into pc and also torrent.

DISM would help, but the Online solution needs WiFI, you'd need the offline one:
DISM /image😀:\ /cleanup-image /restorehealth

However this requires you to have DISM installed, which you might not have, but it is worth a shot.
Also yes, you don't need RUFUS, you can just use Windows Media Creation Tool.
