Hello.
I wanted to clean install Windows 10 because I had BSODs before.
So I used secure Erase in my BIOS Menu but I simply cannot install Windows 10.
It always stucks in any % on "getting files ready for Installation".
With stuck I mean freeze, cannot move mouse at all.
Often I get the BSOD Error "Machine Check Exception".

What I have tried since then:
Updated BIOS to newest Version
Used Memtest for my Ram
Borrowed friends Ram
Took out my GPU
Took out every USB Device except Mouse and Keyboard
Took out second Monitor too
Re-installed CPU and CPU Cooler
Reconnected the SATA Cables
Changed always some Options in the Bios
Used USB 3 and USB 2
Used multiple USB Sticks
Disconnected all Drives except the SSD
Used DISKPART > list disk > select disk <number> > clean > convert gpt

Pc Specs:
Intel i7 6700k Not overclocked
EVGA GTX 1080 Classified gaming
Samsung evo 850 500 GB
2 HDDs
Be Quiet! Power Zone 650W

I literally dont know what to do anymore.
I think something with my CPU is wrong.
What I noticed too is that the "Copying Windows files" is instant from 0% to 100% but maybe ist normal dunno

It makes me think its CPU as you checked the ram with memtest, and updated BIOS. And tried to install with everything apart from essentials installed. Tried to run two OS as well and its not playing nice.

I might get a 2nd opinion and see if any one else has a better idea before i tell you to rma CPU. Don't do anything rash while I am away :)

I try to get inside right now without freezes but I think I have a somewhat useful Information.
When I re-installed the CPU and the CPU Cooler I saw at the reflection of the cpu backside and found out that some Pins had small scratches.
Maybe thats the cause?

Edit: Forgot to say that I actually managed to get to work it once without freezing but I forgot to enable all cores again (had 3 cores instead of all 4 enabled cuz I thought that it may work then) so it constantly wrote an error message in the console...

I am not sure, I have asked a 2nd opinion but waiting for an answer.

If it were me I would get a shop to look at it before replacing motherboard or CPU as they would have spares and can throw a known working CPU in to test motherboard and visa versa with the CPU in another board.

Instead of using Linux I used the UEFI version now.

I think I might try breadboarding with minimal devices installed. Use default Bios settings, one stick of RAM, onboard graphics. If you have another drive, try installing Windows in that configuration. If it still fails, I would try a different PSU. Failing this, I would RMA the motherboard rather than the CPU first as it is more likely to be the problem. If you have a friend that can let you test the CPU on their system, that would be helpful.

No but the problem is that on the 2 hdds are all my files so I would lose them if I try to create a new Partition

Already did it but not with an another drive because on my 2 other drives are all the important files I dont want to lose

Okay so I managed to install Windows by installing it on my SSD through an another Computer.
However Windows 10 freezes after a Minute or crashes with either a blackscreen or a BSOD.
But when there is a BSOD then it instantly restarts so I cant see the error Code.

I will make a new thread because the title is misleading. I dont have a problem with Windows Installation anymore

i won't reply to that but i can guess why its doing it. You installed win 10 on another PC and moved it to this one which has different motherboard and everything. I would do a reset which isn't a clean install, it just puts win 10 back on partition its already in. It will wipe all the wrong drivers.

Go to settings/update & security/recovery - reset this PC
If nothing on it now, choose wipe everything as it will not take very long.
this will restart PC and reinstall win 10 and maybe avoid the restarts.

I am now stuck at the beginning where you Need to Change the Settings (time & privacy Settings).
It crashes while saying "please wait" then restarts and the same Begins.
sometimes it just freezes and I Need to turn the PC off
I had once a BSOD too
System_service_exception
win32kfull.sys

Edit: I managed to complete it.
But it still crashes and freezes.
Another BSOD:
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Driver Description: Full/Desktop Win32 Driver - been trying to work out what this does for ages. Could just go with name and assume its the desktop as its often associated with Graphics card errors, and System Service exceptions, as its a kernel driver. windows doesn't work without a desktop.

I think whatever caused 1st error that started all this is causing this. You tested CPU, you tested ram, trying a different hdd was suggested. Badactors suggestions still stand. If you have broken hardware windows won't work real well.

That Windows Hardware error Architecture error just underlines what I said. One of your bits of hardware is crashing windows.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Quellbrunn : "Windows 10 freezes or crashes after 1-2 minutes. Safe mode however is fine"

I tried to install Windows with a different HDD this time but I got 3 BSODs so far
The first one was: fbwf.sys
and the second and third one was: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I literally dont know whats the cause of all this is now.
I think its either the processor or the Mainboard but I am not sure

so when the installation was a succes in the other pc. did you get the bsod in the same pc or did you swap it back to the pc where the ssd came from?

assuming things is not a good idea.

I took out my SSD and installed it in an another pc to install Windows on it. The whole Installation went fine on that pc. But when I installed my SSD back into my pc then the pc always either freezes or crashes. But i had this Problem before the attempt of clean install. Thats why I wanted to clean install Windows 10. I hoped a clean install fixes the Problem. But I know for sure now that it must be a Hardware Problem because Linux freezes too

Did you try using another sata cable?
the PSU might be failing, so maybe you could swap the psu from the second pc to the pc with the bsod problem. and see if this solves the problem.

the last thing i think of is that the bios battery is dying. change the one from the other pc to the bsod machine to make sure that isnt the cause.

You dont have to secure erase a hdd, windows setup will format it anyway.

Unplug the other 2 hdds when you reinstall windows

So whats the source of the windows install?? I would say the prob is either that or the flash drive / dvd

If you want to use GPT if the mobo supports it enable AHCI, secureboot and UEFI in the BIOS

If youre trying to install x64

I tried using an another Sata cable and its still the same.
I cant use the other psu because its not a custom pc and a noname psu with too less Watt.
I dont think my psu is the problem of all this because i kept my pc on after still being freezed for an hour. I dont think its my cmos because my bios is never resetting itself to Standard options and the time was always the same (not resetted)

I tried installing windows with only my SSD plugged in already, didnt fixed my problem.
My usb sticks are fine, its not the problem.
My Mobo only supports AHCI and RAID, literally nothing else. I checked it

well still i believe it might be a PSU problem.

you said you succesfully installed windows on the ssd in an other computer... did you use the same mouse and keyboard to achieve this?

could you tell me which motherboard you have?
