I have a new rig that keeps getting a BSOD. Bought it at Best Buy and it's the iBuyPower brand (one of the pre-built rigs they have in the store). Here's a link to Best Buy's webpage with the rig: iBuyPower Desktop at Best Buy

My most recent dmp file is located at the link at the very bottom of this post. It is unfortunately the only dmp file in my C:Windows\Minidump folder (from what I understand, everytime I get a BSOD, my minidump file is overwritten, so I only get one chance to have the most recent BSOD's cause investigated before a new BSOD occurs.

I've had about 5-10 BSOD's per week ever since I got the PC home and first booted it up on Feb 16th. I get errors such as SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and APC_INDEX_MISMATCH. Was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what is causing the issue. Thanks in advance!

Basic specs are:

Windows 10 Home
Version: 10.0.16299 Build 16299
ASRock motherboard
BIOS version/date: American Megatrends Inc. P2.20, 5/11/2017
SMBIOS Version: 3.0
i7-7700 @ 3.60 Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 1070 GT
16 GB ram
600 watts PSU (the manufacture is covered by a shroud, so I don't know what manufacturer).

Here's my Google Drive link to my most recent minidump file.

remove Super anti spyware, its from 2011 and is known to cause BSOD. Its likely to conflict with lan drivers written in 2018.

do you have a Western Digital hdd or ssd? I ask cause I wonder what installed wdcsam64.sys which is Western Digital SCSI Arcitecture Model (SAM) WDM driver. I know some ssd use scsi to connect. If you aren't sure, download the free version of Speccy and have a look on the storage tab. It should tell you what drivers are.

There is a newer version of Intel Management Engine Interface on the Asrock web site - https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B250M-HDV/index.asp#Download

if problems persist, try removing Malwarebytes until we figure out cause, its one less thing that could be in way.
I have asked someone to look at dumps and convert them to a file I can read. I can't guess which Asrock motherboard it has as there are 2 choices, which ever it is, go to link below that matches it and download the Asrock App Store. It will check you have the latest drivers for the motherboard, that could fix the errors as they appear to just be drivers

Asrock Z270 extreme 4 - https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z270%20Extreme4/index.asp#Download
Based on your BIOS number, I think this is your motherboard - the other one doesn't have a BIOS number 2.20, it skips to 2.30 - just as well it wasn't version 2.30 as both motherboards have that and I wouldn't have been able to guess.

There is a new bios version which might help these errors - Asrock make it really easy to understand how to flash bios as they have the instructions alongside each file download.
or

Asrock Fatali1y Z270 Gaming K6 - https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z270%20Gaming%20K6/index.asp#Download

600 watt PSU could be a Thermaltake T2 600 watt gold, it is listed on web site under PSU choices on your PC : https://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Gamer-Special-Z270

This is a new PC that is experiencing issues. After the first BSOD you should have returned it. At any rate I would take that PC back to Best Buy. It is not the user's responsibility to fix major issues like these. Contact Best Buy.

Now I get to take a sneak peek at a game. So frigging excited.

I would suggest that if it were WHEA erorrs but these look like driver errors, should be able to fix without returning it anywhere

I would be cautious about taking it to best buy they are notorious for not actually checking the pc and just trying to upsell the customer.

Hi, you should get a new mini dump file with each BSOD. Only the memory.dmp file would be overwritten. I ran the minidump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://pste.eu/p/czGT.html

File: 031518-6015-01.dmp (Mar 15 2018 - 13:53:51)
BugCheck: [IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (A)]
Probably caused by: ntkrnlmp.exe (Process: SRManager.exe)
Uptime: 1 Day(s), 11 Hour(s), 51 Min(s), and 56 Sec(s)

Motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B250M-HDV/index.asp

I can't help you with this. Wait for additional replies. Good luck.

Curious, appears i got wrong motherboard above, its reporting as a B250M-HDV which doesn't appear on their web site now. Maybe they revised parts in the model. This has the a BIOS version of 2.2 but its latest is now 2.50 - (see here

Oddly, it doesn't have the App Store listed in drivers - https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B250M-HDV/index.asp#Download so we can't use it to help find old drivers.

A remote desktop app crashed - http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/msp-remote-support-by-splashtop-172846-program.aspx

oldest drivers installed are for the web cam, but since Logitech haven't updated the drivers since 2012, there isn't much you can do. I can't tell what caused BSOD but more minidumps might help us figure out cause.

Hi everyone. Thank you very much for the replies so far.

Motherboard: It is in fact the ASRock B250M-HDV.

Best Buy's return policy is 15 days from the day of sale. I might be able to convince them to take it back for repairs, but would rather just work directly with iBuyPower's tech support.

I placed a mini dump from last night (starts with 03171😎 in the Google Drive below.

Assuming you have time to analyze it, I'd be appreciative. The computer was in an idle, logged on state while I slept. I checked Event Viewer this morning and found the issue.

Glad you confirmed it, cause i wonder why its got that motherboard and not the ones listed against it on the site. I found PC based on the B250 motherboards but none with that case. I was about to see if it had optane memory capacity as I noticed the Best Buy link mentioned it. If it does, it will sure speed up boot times.

Can you open PC without breaking warranty? There is a slim chance the problem is your ram sticks so we might want to test them but only if it doesn't break a warranty or anything, especially since PC is so new

wait for Gardenman to read dumps and hopefully the driver responsible will show itself.

I ran the new dump file through the debugger and got the following information: https://pste.eu/p/25D8.html

File: 031718-6125-01.dmp (Mar 17 2018 - 06:17:58)
BugCheck: [SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3B)]
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for lvuvc64.sys
Probably caused by: memory_corruption (Process: chrome.exe)
Uptime: 1 Day(s), 16 Hour(s), 19 Min(s), and 14 Sec(s)

I can't help you with this. Wait for additional replies. Good luck.

lvuvc64.sys is the web cam. I wonder if it is the web cam drivers. they sure are the oldest drivers on PC - 2012. This might help but as you can tell its an old link from Logitech, it refers to Vista - http://support.logitech.com/en_us/article/25904#WIN7

Is it too much of a pain to uninstall the web cam if that makes no difference, to see if the errors stop?

I have never seen ICCWDT.sys - Intel(R) Watchdog Timer driver - on a PC before. It may have been loaded via windows update (https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/what-is-intel-watchdog-timer-driver.404409/) as its not from Asrock. Since its Intel I have no reason to suspect its bad, just new to me.

Update: Sometime around 4 PM today l had another BSOD. Minidump is included in the Google Drive shared folder with the previous two (see link below for access).

I went into my Device Manger and uninstalled the Logitech webcam (which was found under imaging devices). I simply right clicked on the name, then selected uninstall driver. I also went into C:/Windows/System32/Drivers, right-clicked, then hit delete. For some reason, it didn't pop up with the normal Administrative Permission prompt that I normally see when doing stuff that has the Admin Control icon to the left of whatever I'm clicking on.

Regarding memory testing...yes, I can open up the case. What should I do to actually test the memory? I can take some old sticks I have and put them into the motherboard, but aside from that I have no solid understanding of what else to do next.

I did see a post (should be directly above this post I'm writing now) regarding memtest. Is that pretty easy to run through?

you should google "metest86" and read the instructions on how to run it.
generally, you want to update the bios to get the best default memory timings before you run the test.
Mainly since if memtest shows errors, you would update the BIOS and rerun the tests anyway)

also, you should reboot and go back into device manager and make sure the device is still removed. if the hardware is still connected then windows plug and play will reinstall the driver a few seconds after you remove the driver.

Unless you have old DDR 4 ram around, i doubt the slots would accept any old ram sticks

I didn't give instructions for memtest earlier as I wasn't sure if you could run it. It lets you create a bootable USB as you run the tests outside of windows If you get any errors it is a sign sticks need replacing/removing. The only score you want is 0 errors, run it at least 4 times on each stick by itself - no point testing all the ram at once as if you do get an error, you can't tell which stick is to blame (its a waste of time). Get the free version - https://www.memtest86.com/

Alright, it's been awhile as we've been vacationing, but I'm finally back to report the next results. Again, thanks for the help so far, and thanks for any future help and insights you can offer me.

I ran memtest and everything was fine with the memory. I took a pic of the screen with my phone and can upload that if anybody needs/wants to see what memtest was saying.

I used an option to reset the pc to its factory condition, and deleted all the personal files when I did this.

I've downloaded and installed the following: Chrome, Windows Office 365 (comes with Word, Excel, etc), Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop; and superantispyware and malwarebytes.

Here's a link to the minidump file as of TODAY, April 14th.

So far, no luck on resolving the mysterious case of random BSODs. I've reached out to iBuyPower support to see what they will say.
