Question BSOD - ntoskrnl.exe - A possible fix related to OneDrive ...

Was getting BSOD with random errors on Win 10 Pro (64) almost every day for 2 years now. Would reinstall, upgraded to Win 11, nothing helped. The errors were random... with (sometimes) file corruption after SFC or DISM scans...

I checked SSD's for errors, I checked RAM... nothing! Ever!

The culprit was always some driver connected with the "ntoskrnl.exe", which does not tell much...

I use Morrowind MGE, which requires Visual C++ Redist. I blamed on that... did not seem to solve it after uninstalling everything related to it.

Now I tied this fix (Disable Microsoft OneDrive) from here: https://howtofixwindows.com/fix-pfn-list-corrupt-bsod-windows-10/

10 days without BSOD, too early to tell... but could this be it?

Did anybody have anything like that???

if you have fast startup on, the pc isn't off when you shut it down, its in a hybrid hibernate mode. Its why uptime is not = to how long PC on today. With fast start up off, PC is actually off on shut down = https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html

Hah... I will turn them off. I had played with this in the past on Win 10, didn't seem to help, but couldn't hurt if I turn it off.

i have a injured hand and can't really type a lot right now. I fell over today, sore wrist. bruise near left eye. bruised legs and sore ribs

dump shows mostly CPU actions, no indication what might be cause. Victim was the client that the user environment runs in. if it crashes windows has no choice but to crash as well.

...Sounds worrying... /: I use a Graphite thermal pad instead of a paste on CPU, but temps seem to be fine... so doubt it has anything to do with that.

cpu doing everything is normal, its not a problem, it just meant I couldn't see any driver names or any interaction with ram or storage.

Fast startup can trip over old drivers that aren't designed to work with it, so turning it off can help.

Yeah, hope it helps. I did turn it off from windows and in BIOS too.

I also saw AMI - NVMI driver in BIOS... and turned it on... as I understand it is not required, but why not.

So far so good... no BSOD since Dec. 07. 2021.

So, I've installed the latest BIOS 2004 with everything set to Optimized Defaults before installation.
Also, I've disabled the Quick Startup.
No overclocks.

Can't believe this might be over... geez...

Fast startup in bios is different function to that in windows.
Fast startup in bios just performs all the tasks at once, instead of sequentially, at boot to give windows control as fast as possible
Fast startup in windows changes how shutdown works/power management.

I have the problem of my computer crashing after a few minutes after turning it on. I've tried everything in this topic and still nothing. I've found a few things that work but, it only works for a few minutes then the computer crashes again.
