I got a brand new Sager gaming laptop, within 3 hours of first use, I got the blue screen of death.

Before getting the BSOD error I downloaded Avira antivirus, mozilla firefox browser, and the computer itself asked me to update something for the killer wireless card. Then I decided to download a free game (watch dogs 2) that came with the laptop purchase. The game was huge 20 something gb... Several minutes into the download is when the BSOD happened. When it restarted the BSOD started to loop. I get two error messagees on the blue screen: Kernal_security_check_failure and IRQL_not_less_or_equal (mostly the Kernal one though)

I can get the computer to start in safe mode. I went into the device manager and tried to use the auto update feature by clicking on each driver. Only one updated: killer wireless network adapter

I tried a system restore, but that didn't work.

Also, I took a look at the event viewer and here's a screen shot of the findings:

I've submitted a request with the computer company since it's under warranty but they won't be open until Monday. 🙁

Any ideas?

Please let me know what specs or other information would be helpful. Thanks!

I didn't. I went back and updated and rescanned. Still nothing found.

I went ahead with the restart. It started in regular windows! So it's something in startup? .... now to figure out which?

Thats a good start ! Dont think the soundcards caused it if their entries are still enabled

Besides the Killer network manager, I have no idea what the other entries do.

Altho the Killer network drivers, are a known cause of crashes

If it keeps booting into windows without crashing, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just leave those startup entries disabled

The sound cards are disabled. I disabled a lot of what was in the startup.

I really appreciate all your help!

Also, I figured out that the zspeedup.ink entry has something to do with Avira.... which I completely uninstalled, and then ran the extra revo uninstaller tool after and thought I removed the rest it missed ....

I restarted a few times last night ... turned things on in startup one by one. No issues then.

I had planned on doing more testing today but my electricity has been off all day due to some crazy widespread power outages. We're going on 14 hours without power. Ugh!

When I get power back, I'll update you here if I have another issue. Thanks!

Yep so My electricity is back finally. I turned the laptop on and off 3 times consecutively and the 4th time I got a bsod with the irql not less or equal message. Ugh!

I still have the killer network manager disabled in start up.

I'm going to try disabling the 2 sound ones again and see how that goes.
