Hey guys i'm trying to slap together a build for a family member that uses a computer for, get ready for it, browsing the web, light photoshoping, and dvd burning.

I've got this build so far. I'm sure I could go cheaper on some things but it has to pass judgment as a "good part" from the man of the house who has basic computer knowlege and will have plenty of questions for me.

Points of thought - photoshop runs fine on dual core cpu and only uses four cores on more advanced techniques witch this person shouldn't be doing, but how much can dvd burning benifit from a quad core and is it worth the extra cost?

Solution
you can get functional quad core AMD cpu.s that have better onchip graphics.

FYI the 5400 speed hard drive needs to goto 7200.....

but your build can work fine... if they need an upgrade later they can go with an I3....

Get one that runs on 7200RPM and is designed to run the OS. 5400 Drives are designed for Storage.
WD Caviar Blue or Black or Seagate Baraccuda would do the job.

Be sure that the graphics of the g3450 are OK for basic use, but I am not sure about photoshop. However, the best solution is to try it out. You can add a more powerful GPU later.
