Hi, I'm looking for a budget gaming laptop. I came across this one on the HP store in my country (OMEN 15-ce032nl). It has:
Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ
Display FullHD IPS of 15,6" (39,6 cm) (1920 x 1080)
8 GB ofo SDRAM DDR4-2400 (2 x 4 GB)
128 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD + SATA of 1 TB
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB di GDDR5)

I'm planning on using it for some moderate gaming (Life is strange) or more heavy games like GTA V. But I would also use Photoshop and Sony Vegas. So my problem and my question is: how's this display? How is the RBG coverage? Because I saw some reviews that weren't all that reassuring. It appears it's also pretty dim. Is that so? What do you say?
Also, how is the cooling system?

Thank you for your time!

Gaming laptops in general focus more on the "power" as opposed to having a decent screen for some reason. Even the MSI laptop I spent nearly $4k on came with a standard 1920x1080 18.4" IPS display. For what I paid for the thing, I expected it "look" better. Then again, it's always connected to an external monitor anyway.
I believe the "color gamut" on that laptop is 176. If you're using Photoshop, you want one that's at least 200. Usually the Lenovo's have the better screens on them.

Lenovo? I saw the Legion y520 a while back and the display looked really dim. That's why I didn't buy it a few months ago.
I guess I have to compromise. But someone on the internet said the screen for the omen one was really terrible and that's what keeping me from buying it. God, 7 years ago for me it was really simple buying a new laptop, lol.
Thank you for your answer anyway.

Hi, it's me again 😀 I just have a question. Today I went to a store and I saw another model of Omen: CE010NL. I went to see the display and find out if it's the same one as the model I wanted to buy. What do you think? They have the same panel? CE032NL and CE010NL?

How's this one? ASUS FX504GE-DM185T

Both Omen laptops use the same type of screen. Just that the CE010NL has "anti glare".

The Asus one sounds like it has a better display. They're making a big deal about it on Asus' website(scroll down): https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ASUS-TUF-Gaming-FX504/

And how's the gaming performance on the ASUS? I'm seeing some reviews and I'm not so sure. Someone said I can play AAA games with low or medium settings? Seems a little bit poor performance. And someone else talked about power throttling? Do you think this ASUS is a valid option for gaming?

The Asus is the best laptop out of the 3. It has the best cpu out of the 3(an 8th gen i7 instead of a 7th gen). Same video card & 16gb of memory. 120hz as opposed to a 60hz display is also going to visually look better.
You'll for sure be able to play AAA on medium settings. Since the Asus also has the best cooling, you'll be able to crank up a lot of the games to high settings as well as it should still handle fine.

So you think the benchmark for this are quite good? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JesVQhMuGUI

What about this one instead? HP Omen 15-ce029nl. It has an IPS 120hz panel, 16GB of RAM, GTX 1060 6GB, but the 7th gen i7. It has a better panel? And how's the gaming performance? It's still a bit out of my budget, but maybe with the new generation of Omen (and intel processors) the price will go down a bit?
Or overall the ASUS is still the better choice?

There is not a big enough difference from a 7th gen i7 to an 8th gen... although switching from a 1050 Ti to a 1060 6GB will for sure allow you to play AAA titles on high settings. So I'd go with that.

What about those benchmarks for the ASUS? Just in case I couldn't afford the GTX 1060 Omen.
Anyway, thank you for your time and patience!

Those are pretty decent benchmarks and probably comparable to the other 1050 Ti laptops.

Still, the 1060 laptop is the best & that Asus is #2. So get whichever one of those you're able to.
