Budget Gaming pc

Hi all,
I am looking forward to upgrade my PC , i have a tight budget .Only going to upgrade below mentioned components.
here are my current specs...

CPU - AMD PHENOM X2 550 BE 3.1 Ghz
GPU - ATI RADEON HD4650 1GB DDR2
MOBO - BIOSTAR N68S
RAM - TRANSCEND 3GB DDR2
PSU - iball 400W

On this system i am able to run BATTLEFIELD 3 at 23-29 fps at 1280*720 with Medium graphics settings
Crysis 2 - 1280*720 Gamer settings 25-31 fps

1.) I want a fast & responsive system i.e for operations like "extracting & copying those huge iso files" quickly 😛 &
Mild multitasking
2.) I want to play games running on heavy engines for example Frostbite 2 & Cry engine and all other latest games out there utilizing DX11 at such that i get atleast 40FPS minimum.

Ill be running them on my 20" monitor at 1600*900 resolution , preferred settings are high / ultra (but mostly without any AA.)


Please suggest optimal hardware specs for this requirement. *(Ill not be overclocking)

Also want to know , generally , at what settings do games run on consoles , so i can mimic those settings on my current rig for
optimal gameplay & graphics.

AMD FX-6300 and a GTX650 TI or 7850 1GB should do nicely for your gaming requirements.

"fast and responsive" might mean you'd enjoy upgrading your system drive to an SSD.

Tight budget = INR 20,000-23,000

I have to fit CPU,GPU,MOBO,RAM,PSU in this budget.

Will be using current 500Gb Hard drive.

Does SSD make a major difference in performance??

You may not need a new power supply, can you provide more details on the make and model or at the very least the 12V rail information?

I don't know exactly what things cost in India, but direct exchange rate puts that about $375-425, So I am going answer based on using that dollar amount in the US.

fx-6300 for $130
basic AMD 970 chipset motherboard $75
4GB DDR3 $30
GTX 650 TI for $140
And if you need a new power supply, you should be able to find a respectable 500W for about $50.

Total $425

If those end up being too expensive in your area, drop to the Radeon 7770 video card, and unless your power supply is total garbage, it should run fine without a new power supply upgrade.

SSD makes a huge difference in boot time and overall responsiveness, but you don't have enough money right now. I would consider an SSD for your next upgrade down the line.

Speaking of mobo which 1 should i go with , ASUS or GIGABYTE ??

As for RAM i'm confused between KINGSTON HYPER X & CORSAIR vengeance 1600 ddr3..which is a better performer ?

Is the HD7850 from MSI OR nvidia GTX560 gud enough ?

7850 is by far the fastest of those options. As I mentioned the GTX 650 Ti is the next best after that. I wouldn't get a GTX560 at this point.

RAM, both of those are great brands and I don't think it matters. Just make sure to get a kit of 2x2GB instead of 1 4GB as it will perform better.

Seasonic is probably the best power supply brand there is. You'd be fine with 500w if it is any cheaper.

You don't necessarily need an upgraded fan unless you are overclocking, and if you are I recommend a 120mm fan like the Hyper 212.

Cabinet fans are just a matter of balancing airflow and noise. Not much to offer there, other than 90 CFM is probably going to be noisy but move lots of air.

I would not get this motherboard or any other with the 780 chipset. It predates the FX line so you stand a chance of getting a motherboard that has a BIOS too old for your CPU. And you can't update it because it won't post with an unsupported CPU! You can find bargain 880 or 970 motherboards that are current and guaranteed to work with AMD FX processors. They also have more modern ports like SATA 6GB and USB 3.0.

Can u pls pinpoint the best motherboard for FX6300 CPU ??

As u said cpu cooler & cabinet fan wont be necessary , so might as well throw in 4GB X 2 RAM

Now , regarding nvidia cards - does nvidia physx make ne difference in gameplay , along with all those nvidia specific features.

OR all GPUs handles physics the similar way ??

AND lastly which GPU manufacturer to go for MSI , ASUS , XFX ??

that's some budget for all components.

ssd is out of the question until you cram cpu, gpu, ram, mobo, psu, case, cooler under inr 20000-23000.

start by estimating this amd build's price and see how much it comes to:
cpu - amd fx 6300
motherboard - asrock 970 extreme4 motherboard
ram - 8 gb (2x 4gb) ddr3 1600 ram (corsair/gskill/whatever)
case - corsair 200r
psu - corsair gs500, xfx core edition pro 550w, seasonic s12ii 520w, antec neo eco 520w etc.
gfx card - radeon hd 7770 1 gb gddr5 (sapphire, msi, asus, gigabyte, his get the one that's cheaper)
cooler - cooler master hyper 212 evo

intel alternative, with core i3:
cpu - intel core i3 3220
motherboard - asrock/asus/gigabyte h61/b75 motherboard (b3 rev.)
ram - 8 gb (1x 8gb or 2x 4gb) ddr3 1600 ram (corsair/gskill etc)
case - corsair 200r
psu - seasonic s12ii 520, corsair cx430 v2, antec vp450, antec neo eco 520
cooler - stock cooler bundled with the cpu
gfx card - radeon hd 7770 or gtx 650ti

with core i5:
cpu - intel core i5 3470
motherboard - either the h61 or b75 (asrock/asus/gigabyte) or if you want to overclock the cpu a bit - asrock z77 pro4, asrock z77 extreme 4, asus p8z77-v lx, gigabyte ga z77 d3h, gigabyte ga z77x d3h etc.

i think the amd combo should be cheaper. only one problem - i can't find the fx6300 anywhere. since fx8320 is price-comparable to core i5, imo the i5 would be better for gaming. i don't recommend the i3 as more new games have started to use 4 cores.
check out these component's price and see which fits your budget.

currently can,t say.i heard that fx 6300 will be around rs 10600 which is not worhwile at all because just add 400rs and you will get i5 3470 which will beat fx 6300
