Hey everyone,

First time building a PC and was looking to start off with somewhat of a budget PC.

1.I was just wondering if their were any slight upgrades that are worth implementing or even downgrading some aspects if it isn't worth it.
2. Do you guys think I would be able to use a 144hz monitor with this build playing games such as CS:GO?
3. Is there anything else that I need for this build such as a network adapter?

Thank you for any help!

Solution
1. There's always changes that could be made.
At a glance, you're pairing a locked CPU with a Z board. Unnecessary, and some money could be saved there.
For titles like CS:GO, and i5 is probably more than sufficient
Dual channel memory will be beneficial.
The PSU is not the greatest, but should be fine for that build.
For ~$185 though, an 8GB RX580 is available (and comes with a couple of free games) - I'd recommend this over the cut down 1060.

2. Yes, a 3GB 1060 should be fine for ~144Hz on titles like CS:GO.

3. If you want Wifi, you'll need an adapter, or switch to a board with onboard Wifi.

Now, that includes a decent amount of rebates, which mean you'll be paying for them upfront.

Honestly though, for the money, I'd be much more inclined to look towards an AMD build.

6c/12t, 16GB of 3000MHz DDR4 and a 580 for ~$150 less than your original offering...

I'd think it's probably a touch overkill for CS:GO etc on 1080p/144Hz LordVille, but a solid build for the money.

For raw horsepower, the 1070 would be a better choice.... Not 100% sure I would trade off from the 16GB RAM if I was playing titles like CS:GO myself though.

So taking your guys advice I changed the cpu to an i5-9600, but pc part picker gives me and error saying:
"Some Intel Z370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

Not exactly sure what that means, would a different motherboard solve this dilema?

I wouldn’t use a 9th gen with a Z370 board. The Z390 was purpose built for them. HOWEVER. There is no reason for you to get a Z chipset board with a locked chip (One that doesn’t have K in the name). Again I would seriously consider a Ryzen 5 and save yourself the money to invest elsewhere, CSGO will hit well over 100FPS on most new~ GPUs and PUBG isn’t as CPU crippled as it once was from my knowledge. Never played it, not over enthralled with BR games.
