Can someone recommend a good budget friendly ssd? I'm planning on using it on an older build for faster perfomance etc. I've been looking at mx500 for a few days. It seems as a pretty good option and its not that expensive.

But if you're going with 2.5", a quick search shows that the 250GB goes for around $50.
  • Western Digital Blue
  • Crucial MX 500
If you can stretch the budget to $70, which I'd highly recommend if at all possible, you're getting 100% more capacity for only a 40% more money. That seems to be the price/capacity sweet-spot. But, I can understand going for the lower price, smaller capacity to keep costs down on an older, secondary PC.

Spend a bit more for 240gb.
120gb is too small.

Many things default to the C drive.
When a ssd nears full, it will lose performance and endurance.

MX-500 at $50 is reasonable.
I do not know if crucial offers a clone utility to move your C drive to their ssd.
I do know that samsung offers an excellent move utility to do the job to one of their units.
But a samsung 860 evo will be $70 new.

I really dont need more than 120gb since i'll have secondary hdd . I would use ssd mainly for windows and some apps or games and thats it. Its an older pc project. But if i find a good deal on 240gb or more i'm def going for it, never know when you might need it. Btw budget is because its an older build and i dont want to invest to much . Thanks for all the reply's. Really helped a lot 😀
