Hey,

So this may seem like an unusual sort of topic, but I can ensure you, I'm desperate for an answer.

So here in the UK we have what we call, "thunderflies", know as "fruitflies" in America (as far as I know). These little <mod edit>, have managed to get into my monitor and I can't get them back out.

The monitors I'm referring to are the, ASUS MX279-C and the, ASUS VX279-4.

How the <mod edit> do I get these things out?! I've read all over the internet but come up short of answers, mostly due to the sarcastic replies offering no help but the over used joke of using an anti-virus. I've read about suction cups, and I'm all for it but am I even able to use suction cups on these monitors?

What I'm looking for is a solution to my problems, no sarcastic comments.

How Do I Get These Bugs Out Of My Monitor?!

Thanks,

Solution
please do not bump threads as we do not allow that.

instead, if you wish to keep the thread moving and active please post additional information such as if you got a response back from asus support on the issue or what you tried to do in order to get your panel apart.

remember... this is a forum so it may take some time to get an answer. not everyone is on the same timezone and check the forum at different times so it could be some time before you get more responses.

as far as how to take it apart... i'm only guessing here but it may snap together around the edges. you could tryt o gently push in on the seam and then pry to see if this is the case and if the seam comes apart. many other devices use this kind of locking system...
if the monitors have a screen cover to protect the led/lcd panel. you have to open the monitor up and take out the lcd/led panel and clean the screen protector off from the inside if there is one. if there is not one (email asus support and ask if there is one)
then yu have to take the panel out and try and clean the bugs off. if they gotten into the panel then you have to replace it.

How do I take my monitor apart?

unplug it from the wall and the pc. get a towel and put the monitor screen side down on the towel. (protect the screen from scratching. then on the back of the monitor will be 4 or more screws that hold the front bezel to the back of the monitor.
once the back of the monitor comes off. there be 4 screws and one or two cables that hold the screen and main board in. take them off and then the panel will come out. when it does see if the flys are in the screen or on the screen cover.

My monitor doesn't have screws viable

i'm thinking just as this guy describes http://www.fixya.com/support/t9083788-monitor based on looking at it.

i'm not sure if those two visible screws just hold the pcb with the connectors on it or if they screw into the frame. they may or may not need to be removed.

just take it slow and careful

until you manage to get it apart... there isnt much to say.

i tried to find you a manual or video for disassembly of your particular model but couldnt find one.
