A few weeks ago we were attacked by swarm upon swarm of what I believe to be thunder flies (small black flying insects). I quickly recognised that a few of the bugs had crawled under my monitor screen and died, what remains of them is a bunch of little black exoskeletons they have left behind. I decided to ignore them but after weeks of noticing them I have grown tired and am now looking for a solution to rid these things outa there.

Few pics :

Thanks to anyone who replies :)

The only way is to disassemble the monitor.

My dude is still in there. I pushed a bit too hard and squished him. The corpse is still there. Tiny black spot not too far from the center.

I'm trying to dismantle it, but I can't seem to get past the front bezel, it feels af if I'm gonna break it... Also it looks to me that the screen is being held together by steel.

I can't even get into the screen, it's being held together by steel, I'm not gonna even try dismantling my monitor. Maybe there are other ways, I saw a suction cup method but I'm not sure if that's going to work.

Whoops, misclicked best solution but whatever. This is what a meant by suction http://superuser.com/questions/76153/removing-dead-thunderflies-stuck-inside-an-lcd-monitor . However I don't believe that method works on a smallish screen like mine.
Also my monitor is an HP S2031a
Additionally I have three of em, right near the centre.

Yes, front bezels are a PITA to pry out and you will most likely break a few of their clips in the process of getting in unless you know the clips' exact locations and how to pry them apart to avoid snapping them off. If you do decide to give prying the bezel another try, keep in mind to have some duck tape ready in case you break too many tabs for the bezel to hold the LCD in when you put it back together - in the displays I have opened, the bezel is practically the only thing preventing the panel from falling out.

Taking the display panel sandwich apart to remove the bugs is going to be a delicate operation. You may end up replacing the bugs with a much larger number of dust particles and if you are unlucky, you may also knock the filters out of alignment with the LCD panel, which may ruin your day assuming it did not get ruined already by breaking something during the disassembly/reassembly process.

So yeah, don't bother taking it apart unless the bugs bug you enough to feel like chucking the LCD out. This way, you aren't really losing anything if the surgery fails.

Guess I'm gonna have to put up with em for a while, thanks for the info anyway :)
