Hello everyone,
I want to build myself a new budget PC, and would like your opinion about what I planned to buy, and if there is anything you'd change about it.

1) MSI Z370-A PRO
2) Intel Core i3-8100 "Coffee Lake"
3) Seasonic FOCUS Modular (80+Gold) 650 Watt
4) CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000
5) SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive
6) MSI GeForce GTX 1060 DirectX 12 GTX 1060 GAMING X 6G 6GB

and later maybe I will add another HDD or SSD for more memory
Thank you for your attention :)

Without a doubt the case has a big influence on the build. When you have two big 140mm fans sucking in cool air to flow over your components it helps aid the general health and wellbeing of your build. Of course with good wire mangement in tight cases you can encourage good flow, but having a case that is geared towards your type of build and having those fans will only benefit your build. Not to mention you can get cases where you can place fans on the top and bottom as well as having the rear exhaust thus improving the overall regulation of temperature within your case.

Compact cases can be good for certain things but in my opinion if you're building a gaming PC/video processing PC then a decent case is a must. Someone on here...
A very nice build.
More than a "budget" build I think.
I very much like your list of parts and would change nothing.
One rule of thumb for a balanced gamer is to budget 2x the cpu cost for the graphics card.
You are spot on there.

You are silent on the case.
My suggestion is to look for a case with at least two front 120/140mm intakes that are filtered.
That will provide sufficient cooling for major cpu or gpu upgrades.
If the case has 160mm available for a cooler, you can install the very best air coolers in the future.
For now, the stock intel cooler will do the job.
If noise is an issue, I might buy an aftermarket cooler up front that has a larger and quieter fan.
$35 buys you a very good scythe kotetsu.

Was thinking about an i5, but then I didn't see a very big difference between them, the i3 can support most of the games without any issues... so I thought to get a decent built but letting room for improvement in the CPU direction for the future
I am doubting more about the RAM though, because from what I understood having more than 2400 MHz is useless and not sure which one to get

It started with the intention of a budget build after I saw the new i3 😀 but didn't want to waste money on hardware that would "grow" old too fast, even though I am much more over the budget I had in mind at first, especially because of the crazy GPU prices :/
Didn't think that a new case can have a big influence on the build, and use the old one (which is a very basic old case) for a while
I have an ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 cooler which I thought would be enough for the i3, do you think that it may be not strong enough?

Someone on here recommended Phanteks for a potential build of mine and I've heard quite a lot of good things about those cases. The ones that stand out to me are the following:

The way you should view a case is that it will house not only this build but future builds too: it's worthwhile investing in one.

Anyway, I'll get off my soap box about cases 😛
