Hello, gods of hardware. My old study laptop is throttling up to 95-100 degrees when launching Minesweeper, so I decided to join the pcmasterrace for a while.

I'm trying to put together something that will hold the fort for another 4-5 years, but we'll see. So far, I've gathered this parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/J4JYfy

The case should be big enough, I think, and if I understand correctly, the PSU should have a direct 12-pin connection with the GPU without any adapters. I don't know much about MOBOs, but the ARM5 with wifi seems to be compatible with everything, though I might need to update the BIOS for the CPU to work.

Well, before buying such a beast, I got a bit paranoid about whether I might have made some mistakes. After all, I haven't built my own PC before, so if someone with more experience could take a look, I would be very grateful.

P.S. Extra info - I plan to play at 1440p-144fps+. I play almost everything, mostly online games, MMOs, ARPGs (PoE), competitive, story games (Cyber2077), Tarkov, etc. And I'll use it for work (programming) too, but I think this beast will handle it.

Well, with a 4090, you won't have to worry about upgrades for awhile, on a 1440p system. Made a few changes, mostly to get you more storage. Games are just getting bigger these days. Also changed the board to an x670 board.

Tweaked the build a bit:

I am guessing a mix of Amazon and newegg shouldn't be a problem?

Modern looking air cooler with minimalistic RGB and digital temp readout

mobo with pcie 5.0 ssd support for future upgrades

fastest pcie 4.0 ssd available today

Case with front panel type C and minimalistic ARGB

ATX 3.0 Tier A PSU with 10 year warranty

32" QD led 600 nits 2k screen. 2k res for a 27" is a bit meh

You want low profile RAM so that it doesn't impede that dual tower cpu cooler. btw here's a case that's easy to work.
