So I'm currently putting together a system low/mid budget rig for gaming and I just thought I'd see what the community thinks about it and any possible advice for upgrading. Also, even though I'm classifying this as a budget build, I'm aiming at playing games like Skyrim on ultra at a comfortable/steady fps and doing a bit of video editing.

Mobo: ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

CPU: AMD FX-4170 Zambezi 4.2GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory

I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible without losing any grit. For instance, what do you all think about me switching...

AMD FX-4170 Zambezi 4.2GHz (4.3GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

for

AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

...would it be worth the 40 dollar price difference?

Thanks in advance,

Mash

I've already ordered the COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Black SECC/ ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case.

Thanks Bemused, that's the best response I've gotten about Intel vs AMD.
I have alot of people telling me to go Intel, but never give me a better reason than "They're better" or "You get better OC'ing".

So, I already have my case, an extra fan, dvd drive, and hdmi cable...and my budget for ordering this coming Friday is 850.00 to 900.00. Given my price range and the chart I looked at, what would be a better price option for CPU, the FX-4170 didn't rank that low and the price is good.

As far as my PSU I chose is concerned, I have always been very wary when it comes to PSU's and want to go with something that has enough power to offer a little room to breathe and that is reliable.

This is the build/prices I'm looking at this coming Friday, if anyone can get me more power for the same amount of money or less, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm ordering everything from Newegg.
