Where was it ever said that the computer would be running with the case open?

The little cables are the LED lines, the power button, and the reset. They won't care about stray AC much and I'm thinking of removing the whole PSU cage and routing them around the other side.

I've looked at pcpartpicker build logs to see how this PSU and case have been handled.

There's really no room between the fans. Remember that the GPU riser needs to cover the fans.

I had to rotate one of the fans because a little piece of it interfered with the metal support plate at the back, by the PSU. I then removed that plate from the case, temporarily, to give better access to the connectors on the PSU under the HDD.

had a moment of weakness there, yes ofcourse they are the LED and button cables, didnt realy think it through... mostly the cables for the USB ports and sounds jacks arent tubed like yours. makes it a bit harder to manage them hmm

i'm also agreeing with the 2 fans being just fine. you'll get the possitive pressure with a conctant fresh air intake, pushing the hot air out even if the airflow doesnt pass the CPU directly like that. heat wont build up in the case. and it's not like that's an AMD fx 8350 that runs hot very fast.

The case will also be standing upright as a tower with the CPU up so the exhaust is at the top and on the other side from the intake.

Not out of order at all. The troll that started it was the one out of order. It took alot of restrain not to tell him off. I send him a PM regarding his behavior along with him breaking rules (requesting help and providing info with regards pirating something) in another thread he made. I am waiting for a response.

I have something I've been wondering. Is working in a mITX case as easy as it is for standard ATX cases? I know they're a bit small, but I would like an opinion from someone who has actually done that type of stuff.
If the answer to this question has already been provided by someone, please don't blame me as I kinda got lost with the troll stuff...

It is not as easy, but it is not like really hard or anything. I have done tons of mITX builds.

It is harder and different. It focuses the mind. You have to think more rather than just toss stuff in the case. It is EXACTLY the right form factor for teaching because it is less forgiving. You need to think and plan.

It is not REALLY hard, but you need to be serious, rather than casual.

I disagree. I think the 2 fans will be perfectly fine.

I don't think you fully understand, the air flow would be going up and cooling nothing if you did't have the side panel on. as long as your keeping the side panel on the fans should push air over the cpu cooler and it should more effectively cool the CPU than if you did't have the side panel on. As long as you don't want to run the build open then it should be 100% perfect

Hot air rises. None of the components used have very high TDPs.

Its a class full of young teens building and wanting to tinker with there PC's, all i stated was that It would't be as effectively cooled with out the side panel.

I'm only 14 so i know that these kids are most likely going to open up there case.
I just wanted to make sure he knew that the air flow would be better with the side panel on, so he may if he wishes to relay this info to his students

Also, what are your RAM timings Zanda? I have a friend with that same board who has issues with his 2400mhz RAM.

I just uped the voltage on my ram never changed anythingother than the voltage and the clock speed.
also is he using a XMP profile, because i could't get my ram to 2400mhz until I altered the XMP profile

This is a class project, dude. Not some machine the kids will take home and abuse. Donkey knows exactly what he is doing and I'm sure he isn't going to just use the computer with no side panel.

1.65volts, also updated last post with other stuffs

What are your timings? Like CAS speed?

His runs fine at 1.5v cl11 but that is just as slow as 1866 CL9 RAM so we are trying to get down to cl9 at 2400mhz.

I would have to check, I did't change a thing there. so i would assume the default

Probably CL11 then. His run fine at those specs, but we are trying to get down to CL9 or so without too much voltage to actually make use of the 2400mhz. Just to see if we can. Otherwise it's no faster than 1600 or 1866 RAM.

Ram says 1.575v but it only runs at 2400mhz on 1.65v
