Hello All,

My father in-law is looking for a new pc. He asked me to either build one for him or suggest one to buy.

His budget is $1000. It's pretty hard finding a prebuilt system in his price range with the specs he wants.

I've already checked out PCPartPicker and can get all the parts for around $850.

The pc will be used for copying and transferring video's.

His must haves:
i7
16 GB Ram
SSD (probably m.2)
HDD for storage
Graphics card (but nothing crazy. He is not gaming)
ATX Mid Tower Case

So if anybody has suggestions on a prebuilt system let me know.

The 10700(K) is on a really good deal right now and doesn't actually require a discrete GPU to run. Not really sure how that may or may not change time involved with the video transfers...my thoughts are that if he isn't actually editing the video, probably little to none. Getting at that at this time I am not sure I would spend towards any manner of modern GPU.
If PCI gen 4 is needed he will have to go 11th gen for Intel. Of course, all the powerful Ryzen options will require an overpriced GPU to use, or an overpriced G model. The 11500 and up skew CPU have the new 750 graphics as well.

The main problem with 'building' right now i the lack of GPU. And when they are available, the pricing.

Also, if this is for your FIL and you are not on-scene all the time.....
Buy something in his price range.
Warranty, OS license, etc, etc....all wrapped up together.
