CPU: R5 5600
Motherboard: Asrock B550M Pro 4 / MSI B350 Pro VD Plus
Ram: 32 GB Kingston Fury (KF432C16BBK2/32)
SSD/HDD: Samsung 860 SATA SSD
GPU: Sapphire Pulse 6700xt
PSU:
Chassis: CoolerMaster Q300L
OS: Windows 10 Home
After a lot of procrastination, I finally decided to swap out the hand-me-down mobo I got from a friend for my first build (MSI B350 Pro VD Plus) because one of the RAM slots didn't work and I also wanted some newer features like PCIe Gen 4. After some research, I selected the Asrock B550m PRO 4 as the replacement and ordered it. After swapping all the components as well as adding a new Kioxia 1tb gen 4 NVME drive to the new mobo in the same case as before I had the following issues:
DRAM and CPU debug LEDS are constantly on and shining red, GPU fans don't spin and no video output.
I tried the following steps:
I reseated my CPU, I reseated my RAM (in all possible permutations, 1 stick in every slot etc), checked all my cable connections, removed and replaced the CMOS battery, and checked the BIOS version (It is p2.80 which is above the p1.20 version that natively supports 5000 series CPUs according to Asrocks documentation). In the end, I figured the motherboard itself must be defective so I returned it to the seller and received a new one in return.
In the period I was waiting for a new motherboard to be shipped back to me I rebuilt the system in the previous configuration and verified that everything worked perfectly.
Having received the new motherboard, I quickly transferred all my components and booted the system expecting no problems only to be met, to my utter dismay, by the same familiar red glow of the DRAM and CPU LEDs.
I don't really have any idea of what to try next and my research has ground to a halt. If anyone has any potential ideas of what to do I would appreciate the help greatly. (I don't have access, or a means to borrow, a 3000 series CPU to try and flash a new BIOS and cant do flashback because I cheaped out on the motherboard)
TL;DR transferred all working components to new mobo to have the system fail to post and have CPU and DRAM debug LEDS on continuously. Pls help.
