Thinking about building a new rig, upgrading from the one I've built in Nov '19 and wondering if the upgrade makes sense. My current specs as follows:
Asus TUF X570 plus non wifi
AMD Ryzen 7 3800x 8 cores @ 3.9ghz, base air cooler
32 gigs g-skills 3600mhz
RTX 4080 (ran a GTX 980ti from 2016 to then)
2 Western digital Blue SSD's (500G for Windows and 2 TB for the rest)
M.2 WD Black for games (Steam)
750 watts EVGA P2 platinum
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase MC500 mid-tower
Would upgrade to:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12 cores @ 4.7ghz
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black or Cooler Master MasterLiquid 360 (seems interesting for the price, not a fan of RGB's) kind of curious about water cooling, good on mid to long term, 3-5 years?
Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX ATX
GTX 4080 would go in here
Kingston Fury 2x8gb 6000mhz
Would transfert the M.2 in this one, get a WD Blue SSD 500G for Windows and a 4TB
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT 80+ Gold
Price is around 1400-1500$ CA as of now. I still have my 2012 Cooler Master Scout 1 case so my plan would be to transfert my 2019 build in the storm case and use my mc500 as the ''new''build. Let me know if that makes sense.
