Recently I bought a new motherboard because my other one burned out. I now have a ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD along with a AMD Phenom II X4 965 3400 edition CPU and a pair of CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 ram. I bought a 380w Antec power supply to fuel it all, and the first day I installed it all it worked like a charm. Then one day later it just stopped working. I was informed that the graphics card I recently had installed atleast required a 400w PSU so I took it out. I then plugged my monitor up to the onboard graphics card and it worked for a couple hours and i left it on overnight. The next morning I try to resume from sleep and the screen reads no input. Now ive ran through some troubleshooting and advice through this site but nothing seems to work. I've made sure all the hardware was installed properly but everytime I boot it will go to the splash screen and then after that I get a black screen no input. Not even safe mode will work, nor low resolution video. Not to mention after the screen goes black the PC becomes unresponsive. I cant power it off unless I unplug it and the reset button wont work either. My computer speaker is plugged up but ive only ever gotten 1 short beep. I could really use some help here, thank you!

pretty sure is a memory issue. i remember happening it to me as well on a very cheap system i made for someone. same unresponsiveness.
YOUR motherboard only supports UNBUFFED MEMORY and your memory is BUFFED.
change you kit memory with an UNBUFFED one and it will 100% work.

well I took out my Hard Drive, RAM, and DVD drive so I could test the beep codes. At first all I got was fans and no beeps. After I waited around 5 minutes and plugged the PSU back in. I got a barrage of 3 beeps. I've been told that that verifys your CPU is not the problem. So that marks that off the list, for now. I originally bought my ram for a similar version of an ASRock motherboard but that ended up dying due to a power surge. So I ordered this new one. I had no issues with the RAM on that board. My guess is that my PSU went bad because I bought a new one to run my system but it only has 380w and I had a 400w GPU in along with a 125w CPU and 3 LED fans. I didnt realize this at the time. I have a new 550w PSU and Sapphire 7770 coming in that I hope will fix the problem. But I might need to get a new set of ram. I was pretty sure my ram was unbuffered and it was a popular choice for a build on newegg.
