Hello,
I'm going to be building a computer for machine learning and also gaming. I was initially looking at the i7-8700k but noticed it only has 16 PCIe lanes. I'm still learning and don't fully understand these things yet, but is that going to be enough? I don't want to not have enough lanes. From my understanding, if I get a NVME M.2 SSD which takes 4 lanes, that means the 2080ti would have to run in x8, which is already having the potential to bottle neck it.
I've read that the i7-8700k CPU is really fantastic, but why so few PCI lanes? I even looked at the upcoming i7-9700k and it doens't look like they've increased the PCI lanes at all. Is there a different CPU i should look at?
