So I want to build a gaming computer and I'm looking to spend around $700. I'm wondering what the best parts to get are, since it's cyber Monday today I kind of want to order some of the parts today. So if you could respond asap that would be great

Thanks in advance

What do you guys think of this? do you think it's worth it to get the radeon R9 380 instead of the R7 370?

It's rather unlikely a game will make real full use of a modern i5, so its kind of a waste of a money to drop to the 370, since the 380 would provide a better gaming experience.

Thanks, do you think the rest of the build is good?

I'm going to be getting the R9 380 is that fine?

yes.

You need a pair of identical memory modules like 2x4Gb kit or 2x 8Gb kit.. One on its own will be really slow..

You spent an extra $100 on processor and motherboard compared to Ben001's build, but only got a little extra CPU performance for it... Possibly not worth it, especially if you just want to do gaming.
As a compromise you could use a 4590 on the H97 Board.... you could even get a H81 HD3 mobo like mine....

Unnecessary investments are involved in this build. No real performance gain, the above listed build will provide you better price / performance ratio gaming experience.

All core i5 will perform nearly same, some of them are slightly clocked higher. So, make your dollars in well use.
