Building a gaming PC for around 500$?

Hi there guys!

I am looking forward to building my first gaming PC. I have lots of experience with computer software and a little with hardware, but I'm pretty much new to building PCs so I need help picking parts..
I can pay around 500$-600$, and I don't necessarily need a blazing computer that can run Minecraft at 1500 FPS (that's a pun you see), rather a decent one that would run new games with a steady FPS of 30-40 on medium settings, not too noisy and somewhat energy efficient.
Just no integrated graphics. Please.
I'm intending to use dual monitors at 1080.

Do you need the OS and other peripherals like keyboard and mouse?

First off don't game with dual monitors because you will have two bezels in the middle right where the crosshair goes (even for games without crosshairs I wouldn't recommend it) You can either game with 3 monitors or 1, not 2. Can you give me any suggestions on what kind of games you want to play because it kind of varies and a low price point like this. But in general here are some good builds:

@Havo_k Nope, I already have the peripherals and I dunno 'bout the OS. Maybe I'll try Linux for once.

@Alex_Saff Nice advice, I've thought of that tho. I'm not going to game on both, rather play on one and browse on the other one, or sometimes when one of my friends come home he doesn't have to bring his own computer for a LAN party.
I play almost all kind of games, from Battlefield and Crysis to Assassin's Creed to Civilization and Minecraft. I just wish to run them all smoothly with a somewhat decent graphics on both screens at once.

Linux wouldn't be much use of you intend to play those games on it. So you'd need to set aside a good bit of your budget for an OS.

The first configuration suits me perfectly! I don't think I'll really need the 8 cores. Thanks a lot

I suppose.. Maybe I'll use it for the local network backup machine I'm going to build someday..

For those types of games to two builds I suggested will work just fine but don't expect much from this price range

I know, I'm not a graphics freak. 😛 I just wanna get something not-too-ugly out of it. Plus, even if I have to run stuff on low.. I'm okay with this, I play games for the gameplay.
