Building a gaming PC need expert opinions

Hello, I'm planning on buying separate components that my father will put together for me. Unfortunately he hasn't stayed in touch with the development of components but he has built many PC's in the past.

So I'm presenting my PC build that I've put together by researching on the net. You'll have to excuse the fact that the website is swedish, hopefully you can translate it or you're familiar with the parts.

I'm using win 7 professional 64 bit atm.

I was considering upgrading these components by replacing the cpu, gpu and mbu.

This would cost me about 186 euros more totaling the build cost to 1331 euros.

Now, I need to point out that I'm not looking to overclock anything as I'm scared to do so and I don't really have anyone to advice me on how to do it safely. I'm sure the stock products are good enough on their own.

So, what do I want to get out of my PC? I'm hoping to run most games on high-ultra in a 1920x1080p resolution. Games such as 7 days to die, savage lands, killing floor 2, starcraft 2 but also newer and more demanding games such as far cry 4, gta v, ryse son of rome, fallout 4 etc. I'm hoping the PC will last a couple of years being able to handle most games.

If you think there's any way I can make my pc more price efficient or perhaps you think it needs a bit of a boost in some department then please give me suggestions.

I'm grateful for any advice and if you need additional info let me know I will do my best to provide it.

For a gaming computer, 8GB of ram is enough, but you can use 16GB if you think it's needed.
If you won't overclock then you really don't need the 4690K CPU or Z97 board.

First of all, thank you for responding and thanks for the info! The 16gb RAM is mostly from reading here on tomshardware where people argued over 8gb vs 16gb for gaming. Most people seemd to think that 8gb was enough while some others showcased newer games recommending 16gb ram so I just thought I'd play it safe for the future by getting 16 instead of 8. I

I changed out the SSD, PSU and motherboard thank you for the suggestions!
I'm just wondering if you could expand on why I would switch out the PSU and motherboard?
Also, would a 4590 be worth it over a 4460?

Lastly I'm considering downgrading the chassi, it feels a bit pricey, any idea what other chassis I could buy that would fit my 970 card?

The Corsair CX PSU is made by Channel Well technology. It's not a bad PSU but uses lower quality capacitors than others. The Cooler Master, made by Enhance, uses better quality Japanese capacitors and should last longer than the Corsair. A PSU made by Seasonic or Antec would be better but I didn't see any at the place you are buying from, and they are more expensive.

The B85 is more of a business class motherboard and lacks features found on H97 and Z97. You can look at a direct comparison to see if you think the B85 has what you need- http://us.hardware.info/comparisontable/products/194727-218743

The difference between the 4460 and 4590 is only 100Mhz. The prices are 2.049 for the 4590 and 1.869 for the 4460. I have no idea what that translates to so I will leave that up to you if you think it's worth it. It's doubtful you'd be able to notice any difference in performance between the two. As far as overclocking goes, I don't overclock and don't see much need for it but opinions vary. People who own AMD CPU's have a bigger need to overclock because their processors are not as good as Intel. You should probably get more opinions on that from someone besides me.

Thanks for the answer. I actually edited my post and removed the OC question as I decided OC was probably not worth investing into.

I am however curious if you can recommend any case, I think the nxzt h440 is a bit pricey and I'm not sure I need that much cooling for my stock products? I would probably prefer a cheaper sound-dampening case if you can find any.

The price difference between 4460 and 4590 is 19,5 euros. I read that CPU intensive games such as civiliation and certain citybuilding games show a performance increase for the 4590 by about 10%. The thread is here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2485147/4460-4590-gaming.html
Seems the 4590 performs about 4-10 fps better in certain games and in some games the difference is barely 1 fps

I opted for the 4590 due to the 10 fps increase in civ 5. I guess cpu intensive games the 4590 wins out more. I decided it was worth the extra money. I also switched out the 120gb ssd + 1 tb hdd for a 250gb ssd. I'm currently using 135gb on my pc with my programs/games installed. I don't save movies or anything on my hdd so I think a 250gb will do just fine but I am slightly worried over newer games taking up more and more space.

What do you think, is this solid and should I go for it?

Yes, with one exception. I orignally recommended the Crucial BX100 because komplette didn't have the Samsung EVO in 120GB size. Crucial was the next best option. Since you are changing to a 250 GB SSD, a change to Samsung EVO would be a good idea. The increase in price is very small but the performance is better. I also use only SSD and will not use a regular drive again unless I have a need for bulk storage. You'll like the fast program loads with SSD.
