So I am building a gaming pc. This will be my first time ever building my own or any pc for that matter. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jtRjvK this is the current setup of the build but I dont know if i should add anything like an optical drive or if I should change anything. My budget is around 1500-1650 and all i plan on doing with this computer is gaming and video editing/recording. I plan on playing the most extreme games at the best quality and frame rate possible. I don't really know how or what overclocking is so i'm not sure on that part. please help.

Solution
I would go GTX970 2-way SLI,INTEL 4790K,water cooling,best list you need.

Admirable
Well, if you wanted to even try overclocking (which is possible since you have a K-series chip) you should switch your motherboard to a Z97 instead of H97, which gives you access to the full suite of overclocking features.

Overclocking is simply making your CPU or GPU run faster than the factory settings. It is safe and easy to do, with plenty of tutorials available.

Whether or not to add an optical drive depends on how you plan to install your OS. If you are buying an install DVD, then you should also add a DVD drive (cheap one is fine).

Some of the parts you chose were not of the best quality, so I went through the build and picked out parts with better quality. For the GPU, my one is a bit more expensive because it comes with the Twin FrozR cooling fan which MSI is famous for, I absolutely love it and I use it in my own computer because of great cooling, but the gigabyte gtx 980 is also really good. I overclock my gpu, and MSI is the best brand to overclock with. I'll leave a few links to help you overclock, because may as well. The PSU can handle a bit of overclocking, and it is pretty good quality so don't worry about that. I'll post some overclocking links in a second.
