I recently got a 5090 to replace my 4090. But I also found out I no longer have PhysX 32bit support with the 5090 and I like playing older games... I'd rather sell the 4090 and get something far less expensive to still have access to PhysX 32bit support when needed. Is a 3050 all you need? Does the FPS scale with a faster GPU? I play at 4K, would I even need a faster one than that? Also, will there be issues with the drivers?

RTX 3050 6GB is a bit expensive to buy new just to use it as a dedicated 32bit hardware Physx card, even though it will provide very good performance. I would instead consider getting a used GTX 1070 or 1660 Super to match or come close in Physx performance to the RTX 3050 6GB.

More Cuda cores is going to make the card faster. Just don't expect high fps all the time, because even with more Cuda cores, the games could still have sudden huge fps drops while the system waits for the dedicated Physx GPU to finish calculation data per frame.
