Hey guys,

I realized the pc that i had before was too slow so i decided to switch to a new one just for the time being so not a too expensive one. Since i live in nz, there isn't newegg but i decided to build a comp myself anyway so below are the parts.

AMD Athlon II X4 631 - Quad Core 2.6GHz 4 x 1MB L2 cache Socket FM1 100W --- Required Dedicated Graphic Card

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P AMD 760G mATX Socket AM3+ Dual Channel DDR3-1333 RAID VGA/DVI Dual Output Support

Thermaltake V3 Black Edtion mid Tower, 500W Power Supply Black

Seagate BARRACUDA 1TB SATA 3.5" 7200RPM 64MB

Asus DRW-24B3ST SATA Black 24x DVDRW Retail

Kingston 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM

Asus HD 7770 DirectCU 1GB DDR5 PCI-E 3.0 Video Card DVI HDMI 2xDisplayport

My question is are these parts compatible and are they an Okish combination? If not, they please list some others.

Thanks.

No

The CPU you chose is socket FM1 the motherboard is socket AM3+. You need either a socket FM1 motherboard or an AM3/AM3+ CPU. As socket FM1 is soon to be obsolete would be best to find an AM3 or AM3+ CPU. Look around for a similar athlon or phenom II but sits in socket AM3.

Rest is reasonable though the included PSU is likely a crappy liability better to cut down to a 500GB HDD (Do you really need 1TB of porn?) and then buy a good PSU (OCZ, XFX, Corsair, Seasonic)

Ok i changed the cpu to AMD FX-4100 Quad Core 3.6GHz 12MB and switched my hdd to 500gb (the only reason why i chose 1tb was there was a deal on it but realized yeah i wouldnt need 1tb) and my budget would be around $800 usd after converting from nzd and the comp is mostly for web surfing with the occasional games until i switch to a better one later.
