Building a New Multi-processing Desktop.

Hello,

My computer is quite dead (literally) and just cannot handle what I want it to do anymore. Therefore, I am looking to build a new system. Up until now, I have always been using AMD, but now I just want whichever system can handle what I want done. I will first list a few components I think may be a good purchase.

I have never used an SSD before, but I am planning on getting one just for the operating system. Please recommend me a good one as I know nothing about them. Also, will my boot time using an SSD be unnaffected by the deterioration of the rest of my system? As for OS, what are the cons to keeping windows 7 over windows 10?

Everything above is Intel, apart from the AMD CPU which sounds amazing for what I need, but it alone is $1000. I would like to know if I really need to spend that much money or not.

Also, I'm looking to have 2x 8GB or 4x 4GB DDR4 RAM, but I don't know too much about which brand is better than the other, etc.

I already have a large tower (should fit any motherboard) and a 650 watt power supply. However, I will need a fan which will ensure my CPU/GPU keep cool and don't get damaged.

I'm assuming that the GPU won't be too important, as my main desire is multi-processing and high responsiveness rather than nice graphics. Tell me if I'm wrong, and suggest a GPU which would do the job.

What i plan to do with the system:
I always play games on the lowest graphics settings possible. I usually play 3 games at the same time (split screen), but I sometimes have up to 6 running at once.

A general example of what I want runninng at one time:
- 2 windows of Runescape (in the foreground).
- One window of League of Legends in the foreground.
- One window of Mozilla Firefox (in the foreground), usually 3-5 tabs of YouTube.
- Skype/Discord call going (in the background).
- 2 smartphone emulators (in the background).
- Music application (in the background).

Another example:
- Game/Animation rendering (e.g. Unreal / Adobe Captivate / Lightwave) (foreground).
- Mozilla (foreground).
- 2 Runescape (background).
- 2 Emulators (background).
- Skype/Discord (background).
- Music (background).

I only know the basics when it comes to IT, so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would ideally like a computer under $1200, but if the AMD CPU or something that pushes me above that price is required, then show me what you have and I'll consider it.

Why...?

In the case of animation and VMs running simutaneously, even a $1000 CPU won't help you. Both dedicate many cores to themselves. Why not use 2 computers simutaneously? Or frankly, schedule your playtime differently?

I really only want one computer, and I want to be as efficient as possible. I am able to play multiple games at once (most of which are farming games), so multi-tasking them achieves better results.

To make it as cheap as possible, yes, you'll need that Threadripper. As for rendering, some programs can use the GPU to render.

What list of other components would I need to pair it with? It would be under $2000, I hope.

What emulation are you talking about; VMWare or ADK? And what rendering software do you use?

I use VMWare for running ubuntu, but in the examples, the emulator would be Nox.
The programs are listed in the example (mainly Captivate).

Tehee, Unreal's more intensive than what looks like publication software.

Hahah, believe it or not, it gets quite intensive with the amount of graphics/code I put into it.

Are you sure I need that much RAM? I've been doing quite fine with only 8GB up until now. Also, are you certain that the motherboard supports that DDR5 GPU?

Apart from that, I can cut $250 off that price for the parts I've already got. $2000 is much for than i was hoping for... but I guess it' not too bad if it will last me at least 5 years in good condition.
