Hey there,
my first post here. I have been a longtime pc player but ever since 2015ish I switched to consoles due to lack of time. Now I'm trying to hop back in and try to build my 3rd ever PC from scratch. The q&a section has a very nice pre designed questionaire to copy-paste for these situations, so I shall use those.
Approximate Purchase Date: Ideally I'd like to finish my (online) ordering of PC parts this weekend.
Budget Range: Only talking about the pc itself, no monitor etc pp. I have a range for a budget gaming pc at around 400-600€
System Usage from Most to Least Important: PCs sole purpose is gaming and nothing else.
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: I have a very old 1 TB HDD to use. There is also a very old tower of mine from 2012, but it is near unusable.
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: German Online Shops such as Mindfactory.de and Cyberport.de etc pp.
Location: Germany
Parts Preferences: No Intel parts please. Usually AMD CPU & GPU but this time Nvidia GPU can enter my house, too.
Overclocking: Maybe, tendency is no though.
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: My current monitor is a brand new 4k, 60 hz, Freesync (40-60fps) Asus model. It was bought for my Xbox One X, so acts pretty much as a console monitor. Nontheless, I'd like to use it for my pc, too but of course native 4k with that budget is not possible. I thought I may get a strong enough GPU to (sometimes) play on 1440p @ 60FPS (capped) on said monitor. For that, my main focus is a strong GPU primarily.
Additional Comments: No bling bling pc, nothing fancy looking. No issues with loud sound either. It should just do the job in the most (cost)efficient way possible. Currently games I wanna play are somewhat older (Planetside 2 & Guild Wars 2, Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade, Space Hulk Deathwing) later on I may switch to more "ressource demanding" games. Important note: if a game is released on the Xbox One X, I most probably will play it on said console instead of the pc. So that leaves me with the simple solution: I want to play pc gems, gems that have not been released on consoles, due to technical difficulties, or simply by choice. (Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose, Rising Storm 2, Valorant etc)
Here some CPU/GPU combinations I searched up:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 ~100€
GPU: GTX 1660 Super 6gb or RTX 2060 OC 6gb or RX 5600XT 8gb ~200-320€
MB: Some cheap B550 or B450 boards ~50-70€
Ram: 2x8gb DDR4 3200 (I think from Black Viper 4) ~50-60€
Disc Drive: 240gb ssd plus my old 1tb hdd ~20€
Power: 400-450w be quiet ~40-50€
My general idea is to focus on my gpu first and buy a somewhat decent mid-to-high tier gpu by reducing the rest of the costs to a minimum. Later on I plan to upgrade CPU when budget is bigger.
No idea if this will work but hopefully you guys and gals can help me.
Thanks in advance!
