Building a PC (first timer)

Well after being a console peasant I've decided to switch over to glorious PC gaming. I want to play in 1440p with games on ultra settings is this acceptable (willing to change stuff if necessary) will really appreciate feedback! Followed this guide btw http://www.pcgamer.com/best-gaming-pc/

That's a high budget for someone that moves from console to PC. Anyway, The build is actually great. 1) What is your real budget?
2)What do you want to get from the budget? (PC only, PC with peripherals, PC with monitor, etc.)
I may be able to build a better one for you.

Here are few comments, since you are going to spend considerable amount of money.
Get the i7-6700K - i've seen them on amazon for 320$.

i5 is not good for 144Hz monitors.
Don't buy the FE card. Go EVGA SC or FTW or Zotac AMP!
