I'm in the process of putting together a machine to run AutoCAD Revit Building and I'm thinking of using a dual Xeon system. The processors are 2x Xeon X5550 on the Supermicro X8DAi w/ 12gb ram, 250gb SSD and two WD 500gb Blue data drives and the Quadro K2000. Am I going in the right direction? Will the dual Xeons be better than the Core i7 4820k on an ASUS Sabertooth MB with 32gb ram?

I would go socket 2011, and a 4930k, that will preform equally to the xeon a in heavy threaded tasks, but be much better at single threaded tasks. You would also be able to go up to lots of ram which will help with large assemblies.
As for graphics, you will want a nice card with some ram to be able to handle the large files. A Quadro Will work great
