I need to know what motherboard would be good for this setup for around $100. I want to use a mobo with an Am2+ socket so that I can buy DDR2 Ram since I believe that would be cheaper. I also what a mobo that is crossfire ready.
My planned budget is
Case $50 (hope to get a generic case with a 450w power supply… think that will be enough Watts?)
Motherboard- $100
CPU- $100
Video card -$100
RAM- $50
Hard Drive- $75
Cd/DVD drive $25
Power supply- $50 (If needed) maybe 550 W
Thermal paste.
I will be purchasing Windows 7 home edition (so the mobo will need to be compatible with windows 7). I understand that the Windows 7 professional has a Windows xp mode which I would like to have because I fear that my current games will not run on windows 7 is that a legitimate concern?
Can I use a Nvidia graphics card with a AMD processor in case I want to go with a Geforce Gt220 videocard
My plan is to be able to upgrade components (i.e. another crossfire video card in the future)
