Question Building computer for $500

I am looking to build a gaming computer for my son for $500 or close to it (not including monitor, keyboard, or tower case). He is only 6 but obsessed with gaming and computers and really wants to build his own. I am looking to build a more basic, but still quality gaming computer. I’ve done some research but options and prices seem endless, looking if anyone with more experience has some recommendations?

This is slightly over $500 and includes a higher tier motherboard for future upgrades. It’s possible to cut cost there for a B450 series if needed. For that price range you are pretty much stuck with the integrated Vega graphics but a dedicated GPU can be added later as well.
