Hello guys. First post here fellas, so be gentle :pt1cable:
So like my title says I'm building a desktop from scratch, since I was rocking in a 6-years-old Toshiba laptop with a i5-2410M and 6Gb RAM. The GPU was shit and after almost 5 years of playing regularly every time I try to do it now it crashes.
I've been seeling Swedish meatballs for almost 6 months now and I've saved enough to make a pretty solid setup (I think), here it goes:

qldtUpb.png

I must state a few things prior to finish: my purposes are for gaming (CS:GO, Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor, etc etc), simulating (Matlab mostly), office and (a little) picture editing (Lightroom and PS).
I know that the CPU isn't high-end sh** but hey IKEA doesn't pays that much over here.
I went for that AOC because I honestly am on a budget and I was trying to take advantage of AMD Freesync!
OH! Almost forgot: the windows 10 for free isn't a typo. Since I'm finishing my masters my college (like almost every world-wide, at least in 1st&2nd world counties) has Microsoft perks nad I'm taking advantage of that. So I can choose between Windows 10, 8 or 7 for free. IKR!!!!
So I would like to have some feedback or opinions on the setup. Or even critics! Or different solutions!
PS: So sorry for the long post.

Any reason for going with the RX 480?
The 1060 is cheaper, and the 3GB will perform on par with a 4GB RX 480.
Yes I know that, the price was just for reference as pcpp does not have a Portugal section and rest of the European sections does not have most of the units pricing details. Also prices in Portugal are less than France as per my knowledge.
If the OS is not required, then he can accomodate the headset and the other peripherals instead and that should even out.

He listed some sites above, take a look and put a list together by making custom parts as above. :)
Availability and prices are surprisingly poor.

I think he has got the build idea. And i dont see any sites listed in his posts.

@ Chugalug for starts thank you very much for you efforth. Idk if u speak portgueses at all and some those sites have an incredibly bad layout so it had to take ages for you to understand and find something ahah. Thanks a lot.
Well today morning, just b4 going to work, I checked you part list and on my way to work and my return to home I was thinking and comparing stuff out.
The case, for example, I didn't liked at all. I saw reviews and what came first to my head was the weak air flow system in the case. I've almost fried a motherboard on an old pc and I lost a GPU already on another one bcs of low ventilation and high temps. So I ended up deciding to increase the budget to fit a neat case with decent airflow. Check out Zalman Z3 Plus (45.8 @Alientech). It's a little bit more than what I asked you for, but I'm somehow happy to pay "that much" for a case like this. It has decent air flow and ventilation and aside from the 4 fans that comes included it has room for 3 more.
I'm still banging my head on the mobo tho. I like yours, but I really really want the HDMI option and. The less storage (HDD/SSD) slots on "my" mobo isn't a negative factor for me since I have enough external storage to compensate the lack of. My, now, only problem is that MSI H110M Gaming can only take 2 fans in. I believe I can go around that and install up to 2 in each "slot", am I right? and I can actually connect them straight to the PSU? (I chose one with 520W from seasonic (S12II. Its a bit more expensive than yours but the PSU is nothing to joke around and I'm a guy who takes no risks ahah).
And as far as the GPU is concerned... I don't know what to say. For the same price I think RX480 is more "future proof" than the gtx1060 3Gb (not to mention the "cheap trick" NVIDIA did with that gpu by naming it gtx1060. It should've been named 1050).
On the peripherals side I would like to ask you if you think on buying a non-gaming keyboard is a good idea. For all of my life I had been using non-gaming keyboards for gaming and I've never had a problem with them. Being cheaper I think it's a pace where I can "save". what do you think ? I was thinking of getting one standart Logitech keyboard.

Non-'gaming' keyboards are perfectly fine, but sometimes the membrane can be very cheap and feel squishy, so I put a somewhat decent option in.
Feel free to remove it though.
Even the 1060 3GB performs better than the RX 480 4GB by a little bit, but the problem with going for an RX 480 is the silly prices.
The bitfenix Nova does have pretty poor airflow, but I was on a budget and the next decent case was 20 euros up! 😱
The Z3 Plus was a good find, its a great case, is it on sale?
It was 65 euros yesterday. ^.^

Go for the B150M-K in terms of mobo, offers many more features over the H110M Gaming.
You CAN put multiple fans on the same headers through fan splitters, yes.
There will be no issues.

was it? omg ahahah Idk it doens't appear to be on sales, maybe they lowered the price idk ahah. I'm going for Zalman anyway 😀
The reviews that I'm seing where the 1060 beats rx480 are the ones that use 1060 6GB instead of the one with 3GB. On 3GB ones the RX surpases gtx for a bit. Also the cooling system with 1 fan, in the GTX1060, scares the shit out of me.

Yeah, that's why i've listed a dual fan model.
The problem I have with the RX 480 is the insane temps even on aftermarket cards, many of which still thermal throttle.
The 1060 3GB will run much cooler, perform on par with it or a few percent better, and will be better optimized for most titles.

Thats why I'm so concerned about cooling and air flow ahahah
I have a friend who uses it and says if I "play around" with the fan curve of the rx480 temps will not be a problem. I've read that somewhere too (forum most prob). Besides the 4 pre-installed fans I plan to add one more just to make sure I keep it all aired nicely
The monitor choice will depende on the GPU chosen, so I'm on a stand-off ahahah

Actually both are good cards. They are more or less on similar range, but the 1060 is a bit better card in terms of power/cooling/output, its faster. The flip side is there is no sli support and not as good dx12 support as the 480. Beside cabinet cooling solutions it would help a lot if you can run the pc in a good ambient temp, say for example an ac room or cooler climate.
The psu you have chosen is a very good one. But it does not come with c6/c7 sleep state feature. Not that it will matter much.
