System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Graphic Design, Media Production, Downloaded Videos

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Operating System(unless it can beat student discount)

Country of Origin: United States

Parts Preferences: I would like to stick to an Intel Processor and Nvidia graphics, have a large, but quality monitor (23-25 inches, maybe HDMI connection?). Also would like a full tower case. Been looking at the Nvidia 270-280 cards lately.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200 or higher

Additional Comments: I want the PC to look as good as it runs and I want it to run damn good. I've heard good things about liquid cooling, SLI and SSDs for the OS. Just trying to find the perfect build for a PC in that price range to more than fill my needs.

JackNaylor knows alot about high end builds, and though I think the guru3d stats he links are slightly misleading, the build itself is a great place to start. I think the mobo he selected is unnecessarily expensive, but again, its a place to start. people tend to inject their personal preferences on these builds, so ill allow you to assemble a list of parts you like before i give you any further advice.

Toms recently built a gaming machine for $1,000 and a couple more for $2,000. You can see what they used, and read the stories to see what they might have changed for the next time.

It sounds like you want some esoteric parts just for the sake of being esoteric, and that's perfectly OK. You could take Tom's $1,000 build and upgrade it where you prefer to have better parts.

There's also the HAF cases, Corsair cases, NZXT Phantom, Lian Li ... it depends on you.

I wouldn't bother with water cooling at that price level, but it is all up to your preference. If you do watercool you should probably OC though cause otherwise it would be a huge waste of money. Get at least a 400 series card if not a a 500 sereis card with SLI. I would recommend the i5-2500K and SLI GTX 570s choose your own case because everybody likes different cases.
