Hello all! I am building my first gaming pc, and while I have a solid idea of what I want from it, I could use some advice and opinions on a couple of things just to make sure I'm not accidentally making some grave error. I have a budget of about $1,000, and I want it to be able to play No Mans Sky at the recommended specs. Here's what I have so far:
Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow
Motherboard: ATX B660 of some kind
CPU: Intel Core i3-12100F
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050
RAM: Teamgroup T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB
Storage: SSD M.2 1TB of some kind
PSU : I have no idea
As you can see, I need some advice on good compatible SSD, PSU and motherboards that are within my budget. I also need to make sure that the components I picked out are going to run the specs I want and are compatible with each other. I'm using PC Parts Picker to figure this stuff out, but I figure that a website can't give you all the info you need. For the PSU it looks like the wattage I need is around 128W. I honestly don't need anything fancy, I like a simple look to my pc and I dislike RGB lighting. I also don't really feel like messing around with a liquid cooling system since this is my first pc build. Any help or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Where are you located? What sort of budget do you have leftover when you subtract the parts that you've listed above, meaning how much do you have left for the SSD, PSU and motherboard?
You sure you want to go with that config at that budget? If you can bump up your budget just a tad bit, you could look into this; PCPartPicker Part List
Those specs as is is good for that game but do you really want to budget around a single game that you might consider venturing into others? If there's a chance you might then might as well spend a bit more and do it properly first time otherwise you'll be thinking why i just didn't do that.
Didn't include graphics card yet, save a bit for it, or at least get something better than the 3050. Igpu would get you by until 5060ti releases which will use the normal pcie 8 pin rather than the new troubled 12vhpwr plug.
Is Windows and a monitor included with this? If you mean this is your first diy build but have an oem prebuilt machine on hand, the OS may not be transferable. Can run Win11 for free anyhow with some cosmetic restrictions.
