Building my first PC and was given a 2TB HDD

Hello, I am going to be building my first PC very soon and I have bought every individual part except for the HDD that was given to me. I'm a fan of saving money and I have a SSD I plan on putting my new OS on. I would like to use this HDD as if it were new. Will I be able to just install it into my PC like normal and be able to wipe the hard drive clean from the BIOS while installing OS? Or will there be a problem with using an old hard drive. The files on the HDD are okay to be erased.

If you're using a ssd for the OS install then leave the 2tb drive disconnected until windows is installed.

Then just reconnect the drive & manually format it in windows yourself
