I am about to build my first pc and I was wondering if these parts are all compatible and are good for 3D rendering and applications like Nuke, Maya, Houdini etc...

Please let me know if I could change some parts !

They are compatible but that CPU is not very good for the price. Also that is ryzen optimized ram with an intel CPU. And I think you need more than 16gb. Also let's get some more storage. That power supply is not going to be enough either. If you let me know your country I can put a parts list together for you

Hi @jacob249358 thanks for the reply. I am currently in Italy but livig in London after christmas. I can both buy from Italy and London. The price for the CPU is added with the MOTHERBOARD. (https://www.ldlc.com/it-it/scheda/P...B_tFIBDVKX2ZNMFqvzIWiSnDXP4cRT4saAmssEALw_wcB)

I made a part list that is missing the GPU and case. I would get a 3080 for as cheap as you can find. And then the case is mostly preference so just pick one that is atx and then ask here or just look at reviews to make sure it has good airflow. here is the parts list.

This is a better CPU than you had, double the ram, more and faster storage, good power supply, and the z690 platform so you can upgrade all the way to a 13900k whenever that comes out. Also, the cooler is more reliable and quieter. And the whole thing is cheaper. I tried to make it around the price of everything you had before but I can do less or more if you want. Also do you have keyboard, mouse, and monitor(s)?

The PSU is an extremely low-quality PSU for any build with a discrete GPU, let alone one with high-end parts. With an RTX 3080, you shouldn't be using anything but top tier PSUs (we have a curated PSU stickied in the relevant forum).

Since I am fairly new I thought that having an i9 would be better (?), apparently not!😂
If you don’t mind explaining me why this would be better?
I wanted to spend around 2,200£, the components that you chose will fit the budget more or less! Thanks again!

If you are gaming, the 3080 is about as good as it gets. Good pick there.
But, on a new top end build, I would go with 12th gen. I5/i7/i9 will make very little difference in gaming.
What you get is more threads which are good for batch multithreaded processing. Games depend more on single thread performance.
I5-12600K is a great gaming processor.

Today, I would pick the DDR4 motherboard and ram.
DDR5 components are more expensive and do not perform any better.

-Looks.
-Build quality, which used to be product segmented. It's kinda all over the place right now.
-Number of video ports(HDMI, DP).
Those are probably the most notable differences between them.

Is still the TUF Gaming so for the money worth it.

wouldn't worry too much about the con above which is that it might leak.

Would personally asos get a seperate ssd for Windows. If you would have to reinstall would all the data on the other disk just stay.

Already looked at this thread and had something similar in the pcpartpicker build, Can look at ssd's i chose, maybe case which is a better version to me for the better airflow but no rgb,

different RTX 3080 as well, also a cheaper one and available right now.
Used the 12600K which is already as good as the 11900K in that first build, but if you would want the 12700K and can spare that money also good.

About those ssd's, you get 500gb more M.2 storage for 40 pounds extra.

The NH-D15 is a great cooler btw. Just rate the Arctic just a tad higher myself.

Perfect, I would change nothing.

RE: the different 3080 cards, the chips all come from the same source, namely Nvidia.
The better binned chips will be used in slightly faster models that sell for more. You mostly get what you pay for.

I would use a single 2tb m.2 ssd for all.
The cost would likely be the same.
The benefit is easier space management with just one large address space.

Both options together in that list i made are as expensive together as that one drive.

The Adata XPG SX8200 Pro in that list was about the best and cheapest M.2 2tb drive on offer and is a really good one.

Build looks nice btw. Just myself would chose the higher amount of storage and go for the 2tb version, but maybe that gets you above budget and you have a third slot left if you wanted to add more in time. Would also add a fan like i did, put the back fan to the front so the two Corsair fans are there and add the bought one in the back, not alot of money in that.
