i currently have an amd fx 4300, would this work? The main issue is anticipated by PCPartPicker. The motherboard may not be compatible out of the box with the CPU; which would mean you'd need a compatible (older) CPU to use in order to update the BIOS.
okay thank you, do you think that the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory would be good for it? Thanks! Also Ryzen really benefits from faster RAM. You really want something between 3000-3600mhz.
Yes, much better.okay thank you, do you think that the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory would be good for it? Thanks!
the msi b450 tomahawk support usb bios flashback, im pretty sure you can download the newest bios version onto a usb and update it without using a cpu:You'd need an earlier Ryzen CPU. Your current one is for a different socket which won't work for the B450 motherboard.
AMD did offer a boot kit; though one user replied they no longer do. Worth at least asking if it comes to that point: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
Alternatively an X570 motherboard would be out of the box compatible. Have seen mentions of MSI motherboards (Max?) which are supposedly out of the box compatible.
Yes, although I was hoping someone here could tell me if the 1660ti is compatible with the b450 tomahawk, with pcie and all, thanks! That's certainly a good option too with BIOS flashback.
fantastic, thank you! And my last question is: can you return components even after you've tried them?Shouldn't be any compatibility problems.
do you have any in mind? I currently have a corsair vs 450 and don't want to buy another one because of budget, thanksShouldn't be any compatibility problems.
EDIT: would say that if possible to get a higher wattage CPU. Graphics cards are the most likely to be upgraded component, and future upgrades may need more power. If you have a higher wattage PSU from the outset, it allows your system to grow (so to speak).
Okay I may buy a new one and push back buying graphics card a month or two, do you know if the 1050ti will work with build.. I'm assuming it will, thanks for your help!I see. Currently I use this to assess general quality: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1045610-new-psu-tier-list/
You'd be okay with your current PSU, assuming it has an 8-pin connector, but ideally upgrade when you have the opportunity to do so. I'm just a bit wary having had PSUs pop on me before so prefer a bit of headroom.

I use that memory and it works well enough for everyday use.okay thank you, do you think that the Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory would be good for it? Thanks!
Precisely.did you make changes and they are better?
Thanks! I looked at the build you made and the video card gets 2-3x higher FPS in the games I wanted. although I have currently used up 526gb of storage so was wondering if there was a bigger one you could find, if not then its fine because I can compress/clear out!Precisely.
do you think its worth it? If it is then i'll get it, but im already going with a more expensive gpu and new psuBigger will come at a bit more expense...

The M2 slots shares bandwidth with SATA slots across most boards/platforms and its very common. You have more than enough SATA slots to last the lifetime of this build.
I currently have a barracuda st1000dm010 1tb HDD do you know if it will bottleneck? Also please recommend which fans I should buyWhether it is worth it or not depends on what you currently have. If you have something that performs around this range, then its definitely not worth it. Otherwise it is.
Typically, a 500gb NVME drive is meant to be used as a hot drive where you make a 100gb-150gb partition for your OS and the rest for your frequently used data. That usually lasts for a couple of months at which juncture you buy a bigger drive(HDD/SSD) when you have more money and replenish your storage.
