Right now the best quality/best price non modular PSU is this one

The best quality/best price modular PSU is this one IF YOU DON'T PLAN TO ADD ANOTHER 970 in SLI

IF YOU DO PLAN TO ADD ANOTHER 970 in SLI

The Capstone is made by Superflower and is similar to their very highly-regarded Leadex Platform
The HCG is made by Seasonic and is also very well regarded
If this is purely for gaming, you don't need the i7, and the performance gain for the cost is pretty abysmal. Get the i5-4690k, a Hyper 212 Evo, and your choice of case and a decent 500-600w PSU and you should be fine for overclocking.

The parts are all compatible. Make sure you buy the RAM in a kit of two sticks, don't just buy 2x 4Gb sticks separately. The i7 4790K is a newer chip and should give you a bit more overclocking headroom as well as having a higher stock speed.

Make sure you get a good quality power supply, a quality 600W one will be plenty. This list is helpful to choose one. Aim for tier 1-2b if you can. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2263985/power-supply-tier-list.html

Specifically, good choices for your build would be an XFX 650W, Seasonic 620W, Antec Truepower or HCG 620W, EVGA G2 or B2 (750w+) the coolermaster V series are good but generally quite expensive.

Corsair 300r is a good case, for the money. Evga 750w B2 series for power supply, so you have headroom, should you decide to add a 970 later. Coolermaster hyper 212 is a good budget cooler, the NZXT Havik 140 is a better cooler, but costs more, and is bigger. Here are the components I am talking about.
