Any advice for the actual building of my computer. Should I have someone else build it for me? Are there any videos or help that you know of?

Haha, there are LOTS of videos of how to put a computer together thanks to a lot of helpful people and people who like to be infront of the camera. If there is someone who will build it for you without being paid that is an option but by learning yourself you can be satisfied with your work and continue to work on it if you aren't satisfied. You'll also learn more about computers in general by teaching yourself

the memory...power cable and cpu on newer parts are keyed they only go in one way. the hard part is putting on the cpu cooler and lining up the mb to the standoffs. the first trick is find a nice large table and a lot of light. give yourself and a friend a few hours to put it together and install the os. dont drink or eat near the pc...as a tech i seen to many nice gaming pc killed by a can of soda into the case. have a nice led flashlight a Phipps screwdriver (+) with a magnetic tip. it keep you from dropping mb standoff screws into the case. wire cutters and some plastic tye wraps for cable management and plastic cheap screw holder from hardware store or a fishing tray. the first trick of the build is pull out the case from the box open both sides...put the case screws into a jar or someplace you wont lose them. take a few mins and look at the case for any damage some cases do not make shipping to the store or home..the box looks fine but the case can be bent or crushed inside. take the time to do a dry walk trough of the case to see where you want your parts to go. issue that will pop up on dry fit is the 12v eps cable from the power supply to the mb 4/8 pin may be to short in a tall case if placed behind the mb tray some case need a 12 inch eps extension cable. the other two cables that can end up short is the front audio header cable and sata cable. quick tip is use a tape measure and measure the distance from the mb tray to the back of the cd drom bays and hd bays. it give you a guess on the cable lengths you need. on installing the mb make sure the io shield is in and flush a lot of time if there a rear fan the shield can hang up on the fans wire. when you do cable cleanup dont clamp the wires down so tight they cant move..you dont want to cut the wires..also sata cables if stressed will snap off at the ends. with cables and partd it not only how neat you can make them but make sure there in the case and not higher then the case side rails..if they are you can slice them. at the end of the build on clean up dont toss the boxes or the shipping plastic for the mb or cpu out or the anti static bags for the mb or hard drive. you need these if a part fails and you need to ship it out. mb vendors wont take a mb back with bent pins. also want the box to see if the product still under warranty...some parts may have a one year warranty..some 3-5 some ram has lifetime. make sure you register your parts to have the warranties. the best advice for build is not force anything..only newer mb that have one set of ram clips use a little force to lock now. if it wont fit see if your putting the part in wrong.
