Question burning smell coming from pc

Every thing was working normal, playing games etc, when my PC just shut off. It turned into sleep mode. I than proceeded to turn it back on but it didn't work. I than unplugged the PSU cord and plugged it back in. When I turned my PC on the first thing I noticed was that a burning smell came from my PC, I immediately turned it off and disconnected all the cords connecting to the PC and opened my case to let the PC breath. Need help with this problem.

Where is the smell coming from?
If its the psu you should replace it before you try to use your PC again.

I'm pretty sure it's coming from the psu. I took the cover off to let it air out and took the psu out. I am planning on not turning it on until I buy a new psu.
