Burning smell from near PC

Hello today at 3:00AM I suddenly smelt something burning like rubber it was strong. I immediately turned off the pc toom it off and smelled it but it was not the pc. So I want to ask that do new motherboard give off a pungent smell? And does thermal grease smell when hot? Temp are normal, nothing is burning in pc, i looked closely. I even played bf3 tdm in ultra and it ran fine no smell. Maybe it was from outside, but who the hell burns rubber at 3:00 am in the night

All are tight, I even ran the pc putting ny head inside the case and sniffing harder than a dog and I didn't smell anything.

Maybe I should run a game and then check it. Possibly the psu

Yup, I will test tomorrow. Most probably it was from outside but still to be safe I will run it and see. Strangely even the psu is smell free including all other components.

I recently posted a thread where I said that at around 2:30AM I smelt something pungent. I have now opened the pc case while its on and the cpu and gpu are on 100% and don't see any damage or smell anything. My first concern was that the PSU was ded but its not and its smell is normal (Little smell of dust, heat, and electric components heating). The PSU is around 4.5 years old.

I tested in an AC room to see if any smell came but no burning smell ws detected. I also played MOH:Warfighter and PC ran fine.
