First, here is my build:
Case: base 500fx
Mobo: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX
CPU: AMD ryzen 5 7600X
CPU-Cooler:MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 Aio
GPU: Amd Radeon RX 6700 XT, 12 GB Asus Dual
RAM: 2x 16GB DDR5-5600 CL36, Corsair vengance
SSD: 2TB WD
PSU: 850W MIFCOM Performance M1G, 80+ Gold
I got my pc around the first week of september last year.
My Problem:
A week or so i was downloading smth on my ps via steam. After about half an hour of downloading i smellt a strange burning smell, like a bug or dust burning. I immeaduately durned my pc of. Then i stress tested it for like an hour with 3d mark to replukate this smell because i didnt know where it was comeing from. I was not sucessful of getting my pc to smell and so i dismissed it. But i didn't use it very often till yesterday evening.
Yesterday, i was playing on myboc and afer about 3 to 4 hours gameing(nothing graphik heavy, my gpu was at around 54 degrees Celsius and under 18℅ load, and my cpu was at around 41 degrees Celsius) and then i noticed the smell again. I checked the dust cover under the psu and ut was extremely dusty. I cleaned it off but i did not turn on my pc since then. I dont know if the Psu is faulty or there is simply some dust or a bug (insect, not digital) in there, that is causing the butning smell.
I am from austria and i know that the brand on the Psu is most likely unknown. For some extra context, MIFCOM is also the company that built my pc and shipped it to me, while surching for parts i saw an inecpensive (90€) 850W psu and chose that.
Can someone pleas help me, what sould i do next and how can i test if the psu is faulty without takeing it out?
